“This is my second pair of these and I can honestly say they are not enough words in the English dictionary to express the way you will feel wearing a pair of Sealskinz. From turning the most uncomfortable cold winter boots into something magical, and making the daily walk to the grind a shear joy, these socks should be nominated for a knighthood for services to humanity! When first tried on, you would think that this strange material would be a rather hot and sweaty, plastic baggish experience when worn against the skin, but we find exact the opposite. These socks are so comfortable and breathe beyond any comprehension of how they can be so fully waterproof!! My feet are perfectly warm, no sweat or smells (even after a few days wear!) and no matter what shoes or boots I have on, I'm on cloud nine! My trainers were soaked through on a recent winter walk (due to the wrong choice of footwear), but my feet stayed so cozy, warm and dry. Might ditch the boots on certain walks now! Would recommend these to anyone who uses their feet on a daily basis, as they turn normal mundane tasks into something rather special. Thanks Sealskinz and keep up the good work! Michael B”

“I bought these waterproof socks specifically for when I ride my motorcycle, in the rain. Yesterday, I had to be out all day on my bike, and it was a huge rain day, and at the end of the day, the socks were wet, so were my feet. I was soooo disappointed.”

Dear Patti, Thank you for leaving a review for our Hiking Mid Knee Socks. We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the waterproof performance of this product. Our waterproof socks are waterproof up to the top part of the socks. In this way they act just like wellington boots, keeping water out all the way up to the top. If water is able to get inside the socks from the top area then it will cause your feet to become wet. Could it be a possibility that this is what happened in your case? “Purchased about a month ago and wore them for first time at the weekend at a sailing regatta. Fell into the water and my dry suit developed a leak. body soaked but my feet stayed dry and warm. Great”

“I ordered the hiking mid knee socks for winter outrigger canoe paddling. I ordered them online and they arrived promptly as ordered. I have tried them twice and my feet have stayed dry. There are two problems 1) even with a wool sock liner, my feet still get cold. I am planning to buy a knee length waterproof nylon launch sock to wear over top. This hopefully will also prevent water from lapping over the top of the sealskinz socks and getting inside. 2) they are mid CALF and not mid knee length, so the top band digs right into my calf muscle. If you are looking for a true knee sock be aware that these socks are 14 inches high in the small size.”
