“Tried my new Sealskinz socks yesterday. They are as claimed, warm and keep your feet dry, BUT unlike most socks they don't shape to your foot. They are shaped like a moccasin. When I put them in my wading boot I had lots of extra material that cramped my toes and rode up my heel. Yes, I did order the right side. It's the shape that doesn't fit in a boot.”

“The socks are well made but are not true to the size advertised unfortunately. Mine are therefore too loose and flop around a bit, especially when wearing wellies. Being loose also means they might not be as warm as they could be. Cannot change them after trying them on. A trifle disappointed after spending so much money.”

The silhouette of the socks should be smooth, they should fit snugly, be form-fitting and without bunching, or excessive wrinkling, and should be snug around the legs/ankles. If socks are found to be loose, slide across the feet, bunch or have excess material, this will generally be an indication that a smaller size will be required. “Kept my feet warm in a boot that was entirely soaked. Keep in mind that you may get a sensation that your feet are wet if your boot leaks and the water is cold.”

“Warm and actually fits like a regular socks. Was surprised! They kept my feet warm and dry on a 5 day bikepacking trip in the winter rain.”

“Great socks keep feet warm and perfectly dry but if below freezing they do lack the warmth of the thicker version”

“Had them out once fully submerged while kayaking and done the job . Feet stayed dry . Would think they need to be worn over normal socks though for warmth in winter do bare this in mind as they are pretty thick so would be a tight fit into footwear”

“I use them for mountain biking. They were a tad bulkier than I expected. Maybe I should have ordered a smaller size?... They bunch up a bit inside my shoes and are quite loose on my ankles and lower leg. Love the dry feet though!”
