“I bought this product for the Coast to coast 200 mile trek in June. Very comfortable as a walking sock with a liner sock & proved to prevent the wet from both rain & boggy ground. Well made, sturdy & reduced further blisters forming. Would buy again, and would only walk long distance paths with these from now on.”

“Planning to walk about 600km on central sections of GR10 in July and August. Sealskinz socks were purchased for use with non-waterproof footwear through snow and/or other wet conditions. Socks have not been used in real world conditions at time of review.”

“I wore these on a walk on Saturday. Plenty of rain and bog. The inside of my boots were wet, but my feet were toasty and dry. I was most impressed that the socks never made my feet feel sweaty”

“Amazing Product that worked perfectly. Absolutely no problems - I wore them when I walked 45 miles over Dartmoor over 2 days for Ten Tors and I had no blisters and my feet were kept totally dry. They are extremely comfortable and fit me like a glove.”

“I bought this product for my daughters D of E. To test them we stood in a bowl of water and amazingly our feet remained dry. Brilliant highly recommend”

“Despite the waterproof claims, I have found these socks provide little resistance to rain when worn whilst cycling. The socks themselves appear to have absorbed and retained a significant amount of water. Expensive product, expected better.”

Dear Rob, Thank you for taking the time to review our Hiking Mid Mid Socks. We are very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with their performance in wet conditions. These socks are waterproof, but not water resistant. Our waterproof socks provide waterproof protection due to a breathable membrane which is sandwiched in between the inner and outer layers. When the socks encounter wet conditions the outer layer will become wet, but this will not be able to penetrate through to your skin because of the barrier in between. If your skin is feeling wet then we would like to investigate this further with you, so please contact us at ukcustomerservices@sealskinz.com so that we can ask you for some additional information.
