I bought these socks because I have had found Sealskinz socks to be high quality and reliable. The socks themselves are good EXCEPT for the Hydrostop feature. After wearing the socks 2-3 times (wish washes in between) I developed skin irritation and blistering due to the adhesive material of the Hydrostop feature damaging my skin. This was my first experience with Hydrostop and it caused me skin problems so I cannot recommend it.

I bought these to replace a pair I had for years that finally fell to bits in the wash. I have used mostly on the bike but also during walking holidays. They are snug warm and the new ones are fully waterproof. The silicone gripper on the top of the sock sometimes grabs the skin a bit but so far haven’t let a drop of water in. The yellow flash on the back of the sock is a nice touch. I really recommend them.

Yesterday, I had the chance to test these socks in properly wet road conditions. My normal summer cycling shoes were drenched through, as were the outsides of the socks: after peeling off the not thin socks (‘thin’ is a misnomer), my feet were both warm and dry.

superbly waterproof, tested them out under a tap for five minutes without any leaks. Could be warmer though, need under socks on winter rides

I had to give up my winter cycling boots because I switched pedals. So, I had to ride in shoe covers, which just never seem to do the job. So, I decided I would try warm socks. Had a very old pair of SealSkinz socks and they worked. So, I needed to get a couple of new pairs. These work great. Fit comfortably. Keep feet nice and warm without turning toes into wrinkly raisins. The cycling cap is good, but a bit thick under a helmet. The gloves, on the other hand (well, both hands), just don't work: freezing fingertips.

Bought for rain protection when playing golf. Socks keep feet dry but irritate skin.
