“The Hydrostop band at the top of the socks, sets these apart from others. It is my understanding that water running down your legs will not get into the socks, because of this almost adhesive barrier strip. At first there was a little discomfort under the toes, which my feet soon got used to. They seem to breathe very well for waterproof clothing, and of the three bicycle rides I have done in them so far, there has been no sweating, but I still had cold feet after 20 miles on one of the rides (in a forecast ""2degC that with wind chill, feels like -2degC"") but not on the other two rides, and I do suffer with poor circulation in my feet during cycling, so they usually get cold after 10 miles. My feet are usually a size 10 or 11, and I prefer a loose fit as my feet are quite wide. I bought them in size XL which is perfect for me, but may explain the bunching of one of the three layers under my toes at first. At £32.50 per pair they are more expensive than ordinary socks... but these aren't ordinary socks, and they have kept my feet warm on two out of the three cold weather rides I have done. I have ordered two more pairs without the Hydrostop strip, for drier conditions.”
