Worn cycling in some rainy conditions and whilst better than your average sock, in my opinion still not waterproof.

I bought these socks because when I ran in water in the winter my feet were freezing. These socks are excellent and keep my feet warm and dry.

First time I used the socks I wore them with some waterproof goretex cycling boots. Conditions were very wet and muddy. Plus raining. After a while my feet were soaking. The top of the sock was above the top of the cycling boot. This sucked the water into the boot, which because it was also waterproof, didn’t allow any water to escape. Therefore I ended up with very wet and cold feet. I don’t believe the socks kept any water out as when I took them off my feet were wet. I’ve now bought some goretex gaiters to keep out the mud and rain and they seem to be working ok. I cycle along the trans Pennine trail and this time of year conditions are very very wet and muddy and thought the socks would have kept my feet dry.
