“I was hoping for waterproof socks. I would say these socks are about 85 per cent waterproof; I guess they are more water-resistant than waterproof. I've found that wearing them with socks underneath is a bit more helpful but after a full day of working in wet soil, the socks underneath are pretty damp. The shipping was quite fast and I like the look of my all-weather socks. They dry quickly on the line, which is another plus.”

Hi Claire, Our socks work best when they are worn alone against the skin as this ensures that perspiration can be pushed out of the socks unimpeded. An additional layer inside the socks can mean that sweat can become trapped as it will be absorbed by the additional sock layer and cannot be pushed out through the Sealskinz socks. This will make the other sock inside become damp as it absorbs the moisture. For use, the cuffs of all of our waterproof socks should be fully covered in the wet at all times, not worn with clothing tucked inside and not immersed in water over the sewn cuff level to ensure that water is not able to run inside through the cuff or leg opening.
