“I bought these a few weeks ago and they’ve been thoroughly tested in recent wet weather. Throughout my feet have stayed dry and warm and the socks are also surprisingly breathable. Love the new addition to my running gear. Highly recommended.”

“I bought these for cross country running where I regularly run through deep muddy puddles and rivers. The socks are so uncomfortable and baggy around the toes and more importantly, not waterproof. They do keep the mud out but my feet were wet after running through a puddle. Won't be using again.”

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our Waterproof Warm Weather Soft touch socks. We are very sorry to hear that you experienced an issue with your socks Our waterproof socks are constructed as a three layer product, they have an outer layer which can get wet, an inner layer and a waterproof membrane sandwiched in between. It is this membrane that provides a barrier to water passing through the outer layer and into the socks and keeps your feet dry. All our socks will keep water out up to the sewn level of the cuff on the socks. They are a snug fit but cannot provide a watertight seal against the leg and if they are immersed in water above this level, they will become wet. This also applies if the cuffs are worn uncovered allowing water to splash into the socks or with clothing tucked into them as this would allow water to run down the legs or clothing and into the socks through the cuff. We do recommend that all products are worn tucked under/covered by clothing to prevent this happening. “Purchased for use on a camping holiday to Wales , my husband wore them on a trek up Snowdon , very comfortable, no blisters , true to size , sadly it didn’t rain so he tested them in a puddle - dry feet ensued !! They may be expensive for a pair of socks but they will be well worth the cost for dry feet when out and about during the wet weather we usually get .”

“I am not sure who this concept would work for - I guess only if your feet don’t sweat at all or your activity is so short you do t sweat a pool inside the sock. Even if these socks breathe in theory - once shoes are wet the vapour will get blocked by water so you just get very wet feet inside the waterproof socks. On top of that the inside moves against the outside so you lose traction. And no they didn’t get wet over the top of shoe.”

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our Soft Touch Ankle socks. We are very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with their performance. Our waterproof socks are waterproof up to the top part of the socks. In this way they act just like wellington boots, keeping water out all the way up to the top. If water is able to get inside the socks from the top area then it will cause your feet to become wet. Could it be a possibility that this is what happened in your case? “I just used the socks for a yachting competition, and I'm amazed by how good they are. I don't have to carry around my boots anymore - just my regular sailing shoes and these socks are perfect!”

“It's a good quality product, but the length on the leg is too short. The material itself doesn't let water in, but water comes from the top, so leg sleeves should be worn on top of the overshoes and that's why they should reach higher on the leg.”

“Have worn these a couple of times now and they are comfortable and non irritating. Not actually tried out the water proof qualities yet but hoping they will do what Sealskinz say they will!”
