“The Pro-Sleeve was fitted in accordance with the instructions. I used a 3/4" nozzle on a Rothenburger gas cartridge torch. This was just about adequate. I burned through the plastic outer in a couple of places and it took a while to fully shrink the sleeve. I then rolled it all over which coated the roller with tar. The advice to avoid a windy day is good but fence posts tend to break during a windy period. As regards increased post life we will have to wait ten years. I used a Workmate and sawhorse to rest the post during fitting and the post could be rotated fairly easily while applying the heat all over.”
“This is a great product and should increase the life span of the post however there was a problem with the delivery but once i contacted customer services for second time it was delivered within 2 days”
“Really easy to use and looks good quality.
Definitely worthwhile, time will tell but better than nothing. Would recommend.
- takes quite a lot to burn a hole in one, this only happened once out of about 20.
- wrapping can peel away from the top slightly after it cools but there’s so much bitumen it probably doesn’t matter.
- can be a little messy when bitumen oozes.”
“I used to do something similar years ago with dpc, bitumen and clout nails and that worked so I was pleasantly surprised when I came across these Pro-Sleeves. Quick and easy to apply if you have the right equipment.”
