“If I had written this review within the first week of using it, I would have given the product ten out of ten. However, I found that the shade of colour changed further down the drum as I used it. I had over twenty 6ft fence panels to paint and the change of shade only became apparent when I left a gap of six panels in the run of fencing I was painting for another reason and then went back to them after two weeks to finish the job. My wife noticed the difference in the shade but we could not explain why because all the Creocote came out of the same 20L drum. I had some paint left over and decided to paint the wooden sleepers around the edge of the lawn and that is when I discovered a real change in shade. I was getting to the bottom of the drum and decanting the paint into a smaller container from which I painted the sleepers and the shade was getting darker and darker and a jelly-type sludge appeared in the paint. I concluded that the product should have been thoroughly stirred before using it. There was no instruction to do this in the application notes on the label so I assumed it wasn't necessary. This is a very good product but the application notes should include reference to the change in shade if it is not stirred frequently. I have attached a couple of photos showing the change in shade on the fencing and how the shade on the sleepers got very dark towards the end. For your information, I have just ordered another 20L drum for the fencing at the front of my property.”
