“These non-CFC inhalers will never be as effective as inhalers were in the late 90s/early 00s. The cynical re-formulation by big pharma following the expiry of the patent on the older formula puts profit ahead of public health (as per their usual M.O.). And, as ever, environmental concerns are cited as a convenient excuse. Older inhaler use was not creating massive holes in the ozone layer, which has been increasing in thickness since CFC emissions from other sources have been eliminated. But still, who cares how effective these inhalers really are? As there's even more money to be made from hospitalisation with asthma attacks.”
