“While the boots offer a degree of protection to the foot they are not a solution to use in active dogs. The fit is simply not tailored enough to provide a comfortable fit and relies to much on pressure under the strap. This causes undue rubbing of the dew claw.”

“Betty loves her Ruffwear boots and she is on her 9th pair!! Though I am finding that as her back legs become worse and her feet drag behind more (from her degenerative myelopathy) She wears holes on the top of the shoe where the fabric joins to the rubber toe part. Maybe more protective rubber could be put on the top of the boot??”

“These boots seemed very well made, and came very promptly. However, due to my dog’s lack of sensation in his feet they had to be returned as he could not walk in them, the soles were too sturdy to permit sensation. This is a shame but no fault of the manufacturer or seller. I was pleased also with the prompt refund.”

“I gave 3 stars, I actually bought them for my German shepherd, not for rough terrain but because he’s old and drags his back feet, not what they are really made for I guess, Best of a bad job, but my dog wrecks them after 3 weeks, that’s walking short walks on pavement to park, it’s £50 a month omg,!! They are sturdy, but all stiching wears out and they fall to bits, I put a bit of super glue on threads to make them last a bit longer and it does help, good company to deal with, prompt delivery, but don’t buy for dragging feet, they don’t last ,!!!”

Oh no he sounds like he chews through boots. We have a new protector sock from Non-Stop dogwear give our customer service team a call as it may be worth trying them out as they are super durable.
