Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

Today we have now served well over 150,000 customers and our business, whilst still small and family focused, occupies over 5000 square feet and is full of amazing dog products for the active and not so active pup alike.

We are proud to be a leading independent partner of world class brands such as Ruffwear, Dog Copenhagen, Kurgo, Kong, Non-stop dogwear, K9 Sport Sack, Rukka, ChuckIt!, Kong, EzyDog and many more.

These quality brands are all complemented by a full range of dog care accessories and our own brand of food, accessories and treats.

Based in beautiful Northumberland our business sells on-line and at major dog events throughout the country such as Crufts.

I’ve always found Ruffwear to be good quality. I chose the blue because my dog gets hot quickly. Plus, another reason for choosing Ruffwear (sorry Mountain Dog doesn’t sell this!) is to get the Swamp cooler core (I have the vest and it works a treat). We did a two day hike with my dog carrying his own food etc. We practiced in the office with an empty pack and all good. The packs are fitted with elastic cords so you can shorten the panniers, which I did as he’s only little. Post walk what have I learnt? 1. My boy is a hairy neutered male, with soft hair, this is now all matted and I’m carefully combing it out - so get a close clip beforehand! 2. Balance the pack sides as evenly as possible otherwise you are constantly straightening 3. Practice more. I’d do empty, then do day trips, then do a big hike. He’s not super keen on wearing it, the second day he was reluctant to put it back on, possibly it was rubbing, but with camping I didn’t have his grooming kit (so much easier to have a short haired dog!). 4. He’s never had dry skin, but he’s suddenly got a lot of dry skin on his back where the pack was. I think the heat around the pack might have not helped. A good wash will help him. If Ruffwear could make the pack design more breathable and overall lighter in weight it would be excellent.
