“I’m pleased with the quality of the material in the actual collar but the chain part of the collar is very disappointing. I chose this collar as the description stated that the metal was stainless steel and I therefore assumed that it would not discolour my dog, but this is not the case. She has only been wearing it for 10 days and her fur has been turned grey, not a good look for white fur. I would not recommend this collar, a waste of £32!”

“Easy to adjust and nice colour. HOWEVER was it worth paying extra for? -sadly, no. It isn't any more durable than my dogs existing collar from a local pet store and if your reason for buying is to reduce lead pulling, it has had no effect at all on my Springer who happily still pulls away.”

Whilst we understand your concerns, Ruffwear is one of the most reputable brands in which we stock and they make every product with particular needs in mind. With regards to your chain reaction collar, whilst most pet shops will demonstrate these as collars to prevent pulling, Ruffwear designed this collar for dogs who often slip out of everyday collars. Ruffwear's design incorporated a martingale design to prevent Houdini dogs from escaping. When properly adjusted, the martingale collar will be comfortable until engaged and when engaged, the collar never chokes. Instead, it fits snugly, preventing the collar from coming off. These collars are designed to make sure they last almost a lifetime! Ruffwear make use of "Tubelok Webbing" which not only increases durability, reduces the chances of the collar getting caught and fraying away when out adventuring but also prevents the colour within the collar reducing over time. Whilst we understand you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we hope this information may provide you with some relief in the strength and durability of your purchase. “So pleased with this first purchase from Mountain Dog. My dog currently wears a ruffwear harness and collar but I wanted a brighter colour and the seafoam collar and matching harness are perfect. Great fit, easy to clean and importantly (as my dog isn't too patient) easy to put on/take off without too much fiddling around. My dog isn't keen on a standard collar so the half chain option is perfect for him.”

“Excellent half crombie collar, good solid chain and great features like the additional lead connection and the dog tag holder, means I won't accidentally attach the lead to the tag like I've done before. Nice design as well.”

Thank you for your review Stewart! I love the separate dog tag loop on the Ruffwear collars too - makes losing a dog tag a lot less likely!
