a rare color today, light grey-green, when everybody is in black. Elegant cut, fits very well, and modern / short size. The back pockets are a bit "strange" but do not stand out (I was afraid of that). Very nice product. Came with a strong smell, and now, I don t know how the cleaner did it, but the smell is replaced by a sweet and barely perceptible "muttoon" smell, like a new Irish sweater made of raw wool. This scent is slowly fading (like a sweater's), I think it will end up disappearing completely. Also nice collar, very useful when the weather is cold and windy

Comes as described- bought for the plentiful pockets- and also nice and warm. Has the additional benefit of making me look smartly dressed.

This jacket was a very pleasant surprise. Mine was seemingly unissued, as it came with the original vintage tag stapled on. It is stamped 1944(!) So you are buying a wearable piece of history, from tumultuous times. The quality of the jacket itself is astounding. The stitching is top notch, in fact so tight and minute that removing the collar insignia proved to be harder than expected! (On that note, your jacket may have 'crossed rifles' military insignia on the collar. ) The fit is tailored. I wear a size 42, bought a large and the fit is bang on. But be aware that if you are on the large side of your size, you will most likely need to go a size up. The design of the jacket is also something to behold. A multitude of voluminous pockets. Each of the front hip pockets and the back pockets are big enough for a paperback, and you also have another bunch of buttoned inner pockets. It features high armholes, which means you can move your arms in every direction without raising and crumbling the body of the jacket. There are also cotton ventilation patches under the armpits. In closing, this is a unique, feature packed, practical, good looking, extremely warm jacket that is a profound bargain. Similar quality in a new jacket cost you hundreds of pounds. The grey colour is also neutral enough that it doesn't scream 'army surplus' if this is an issue for you.
