Fast delivery, as I have come to expect from this site. In the worst weather, the greatcoats available here would be what I recommend, but this is spot on the rest of the time. It's more green than grey, comfy, loads of pockets (it is a poachers jacket, after all) and warm when you need warmth. But not so heavy that you overheat in warmer conditions, thanks in part to the cotton armpit patches. And smarter than expected. Can be worn almost anywhere with only admiring and/or curious comments and queries from folk. Great for general dog walking (pockets for everything) and doesn't make you look like a weirdo prepper!

I was very pleased with the quality of the coat. Despite being quite thin when worn in -3 conditions and snowing it kept me completely warm. Had a slightly old smell to it but once dry cleaned was no longer noticeable. Overall very happy with the product and service provided.

I've spent quite some time looking for this kind of jacket and must say, it was worth it. Really great quality, strong stitching and excellent material. Definitely thicker (and more windproof) than the much praised American Mackinaw jackets. It keeps you very warm; I was out for a walk in a slight drizzle and a stiff breeze at around 2-3° Celsius and was dry and toasty with just a T-shirt underneath. The multitude of pockets lets you store quite a lot of stuff. The high collar and crotch strap will keep the wind and cold out if need be. I'll be testing that when winter finally comes. I ordered two jackets and was (thoughtfully?) provided with two different models, both with a C56 tag inside. One jacket has a more tailored fit with a pleated back and looks smart enough for a night out. It is lined only in the chest area. The other one has fully lined sleeves and chest and no pleats on the back. It is more generously cut and allows for layering (no need for that yet, still only light frost this winter) or for the extended belly after this Christmas's eating and feasting. The cut and colour give the jacket a very civilian look and feel. All in all, this is a great jacket that would cost you much much more if you had to buy it new.

I do quite a bit of dog training and find the rear pockets a real boon. The high collar and the tail flap that buttons through your trousers is a nice touch to stop drafts. The collar turns up higher than your ears providing a very snug coat. So far not tested in heavy rain but easily resists a shower. The material doesn't get through brambles as well as a waxed cotton one and no doubt will snag on barbed wire. Several useful internal pockets. Under armpit vents and concertina pleats at shoulders allow for very free arm movement in what looks like a tailored coat. If I had one downside - the fabric will crease if stored badly when damp and look as if you have slept in the coat. An excellent coat.good value for money and delivered very swiftly. Very warm and cosy -
