I kayak and climb and sleep outdoors between Northumberland, The Lakes, Scotland and Snowdonia. I was seeking a sleeping bag and a bivvy sack I can use in a tent or out in the open all year round. A recent trip was a Northumberland cave. I found this sleeping bag to be excellent quality, efficient design and it very much stood up to the job of providing comfort in the open air. There's also an option to purchase a carry-bag and I may go for this in future. Overall, I found this company 'Forces Uniform and Kit' very straightforward to deal with and their range of items, plus the cost, is fantastic. I am part of a community of outdoor enthusiasts who have also purchased or are now looking to but from this company. From an environmental viewpoint I found it environmentally-supportive that some of the items are pre-used. Both the sleeping bag and bivvy sack I purchased were ex-military kit and each in superb condition after a spin in the washer. From an environment, cost and performance viewpoint, I very much recommend this outlet for this type of gear. Our kayak site is at: www.invincicom.wix.com/kayaknorth - Kind regards, Tor Alexander Bruce

Exactly what I’d wanted, Head and shoulders above the offerings from the national camping/outdoor equipment providers. Service was exceptional too.

I'm shortly doing a sponsored walk of 70 miles so wanted something robust and tried and tested....what better than something our troops would use. Very happy and superb sleeping bag

I am a hammock sleeper and wanted a warmer bag. Its an 'Arctic bag' , which led me to believe that it was a very capable bag in cold weather. Its not great. I have used it a few times throught the seasons at best I would say that its a good 3 season bag. It fell well below my expectations. I have just had a week hanging in an English wood with some nights falling to -3. I had an under blanket and a pad underneath me. I wore thick thermal leggings, a base layer, merino top and a wool jumper, wool socks and a hat. Still not as warm as I expected. Its okay in the earlier part of the night its at that 4am-6am cold drop that I could feel it. Normally in a hammock its the underneath that the body feels the cold, I got that sorted out. I noticed that it was on the top of my body that I could feel less than warm at the coldest part of the night. Okay I wasn't going to get hypothermier, but I wasnt roasty toasty either. I had one night when I was very warm. I had all the above and added a fleece sleeping bag liner. Considering its an 'Arctic bag', I found it very underwhelming. I also do not like the half zip, it made it very difficult (in a hammock) to get in and out of the bag. On the plus side the delivery was quick.
