“I had these boots before and i have not found any other boots as comfortable as these.if you use them for work they will leave black marks on floors if you stub your toe,i used them for floor laying before.the best boots i have got”

“Boots are substantially larger than my usual size. When I requested a smaller size for this reason, I received: "I am not sure why you think you’re a size 10 which the 290 boots should fit. If you can tell me the length of your foot, I may be able to confirm you are definitely a size 10, and we’ve made a booboo." Not the best of customer relations in my opinion. The boots (other than being canoes), were pretty much as described, but I feel "excellent/barely used condition (Grade 1)" is a tad on the optimistic side.”

Hi Alan, thanks for the review and as mentioned in my reply to your email at the time, I am sorry if I gave the wrong impression and that my customer service was seen as lacking. To allay any fears in readers of your review, I will explain what I was trying to relay in my response. Because we sell German and Austrian boots mainly, and they both use different measuring systems, we have made life a lot easier for the majority of customers who do not understand the conversion process, by supplying a converter chart. This shows how a pair of UK size boots relates to the other two systems. The point here is that it is the boot sizes we are showing in the conversion, not the size of a person's feet. For instance, a person who's feet have been measured at just over size 9½, and who will therefore not fit into a pair of size 9½ shoes, would need to opt for a pair of size 10s. They may then spend their entire adult life purchasing size 10 footwear and so state their shoe size as being size 10. If you then convert size 10 to the German or Austrian sizes, the difference between the original foot size 9½ and the overseas version footwear, this may add even more room inside as well. AND, in this case, it may turn out that a pair of German or Austrian sized boots in one size smaller, would be a far better match to the actual person's feet. It is complicated, and we have of course explained these peculiarities to many customers who find their ordered do not fit properly, and for an online business this is inevitable. This is why we are very happy to replace boots whenever possible. In summary Alan, thanks for your understanding and I am truly sorry that you felt that I was doubting your knowledge of your own feet, whereas, I was in a slightly clumsy way trying to say what I have outlined above.

“These boots arrived in great condition, nicely broken in with very minimal sole ware, hoping to get good use out of these over the winter, absolute bargain at £38 ! Nice quick delivery, excellent service from Fu Kit once again, definitely the best military surplus that there is by far,can't recommend enough”
