Would have given 5 stats but for some of the stitching quality. Taken the draws strings off as no lover of things that can tangle up when out shooting. Excellent value for the money. Use it for shooting on late summer evenings. Will be used in winter with a fleece under it. Very pleased and thoroughly recommend it.

This is an good jacket but not quite as good as an original. Sizing is great but the velcro tabs at the wrist are to small and the stitching in that area is poor, no way to roll and secure the hood ( additional mods by myself have sorted it now) and it's not very windproof i have just spent 10days away with it in Dorset and it did an ok job but no where near the same as my old issued one. Inside pocket need a closer or something to stop stuff coming out. All in all a good lightweight , midweight jacket. Good for shooting, bushcrafting, cadets, etc

Bought this for my nephew as in TA and he loves it been away with it for weekend with TA and said brilliant wind and water proof and has extra pockets to put all other things, all friends asking where he got it. So well worth the money.

Just the job, does exactly what it says on the tin - windproof, showerproof, plenty of pockets. The 2 poachers pockets on the back were a useful bonus. Good sized hood. Stitching around the Velcro tags on the cuffs a bit on the thin side, and had to restitch one, but quality otherwise good. The sizing description is accurate - ie., the sizes do come up larger than you might anticipate; I got the Large because the Medium was out of stock, and it is very big for my 42” chest. But, I wanted a windproof outer for dog walking, so I’d rather have too big than too small. Tracking on the delivery was useful. I’ve today received 2 more jackets from the same company (Austrian Army Gore-Tex M65’s), and will definitely continue to use you for our future needs. Thanks.

I would have given 5 stars as this is an excellent bit of kit but the stitching quality is very poor -one of the velcro strips was hanging half off and there are loose threads all over - like i say great smock very poor quality control

What can you say , it’s an OG repro sas smock that ticks all the boxes it’s as good as (matter of fact it’s better quality than my surplus MTP one) so for the very reasonable price I paid I think ya a cracking buy .

Since I still have an original SAS Windproof Smock in DPM (still going strong since 1980) I believe I can comment with some authority on this jacket! Weighing in at a shade under 1Kg, it's actually lighter than the original - but since the original is made with expensive real Gaberdine (largely because it doesn't melt when on fire) that's not surprising. Out of the packet, the fabric feels thin and soft, but a treatment with a showerproofing agent such as Nikwax improves both crispness and thickness. Once treated, the jacket sheds water nicely, requiring 30 minutes of decent rain before the double-layer at hood and shoulders starts to feel damp internally - pretty much like the original. The polycotton is extremely breathable, eminently windproof, and very comfortable against the skin. Military sizing for the large is a 180/104, and the sleeves are correspondingly long. Cuffs are as per the original. Stitching is mostly excellent - tacking at all the stress points - but oddly the bottom of the zip needed some remedial work as elsewhere indicated. Pockets are actually better than the original, since this copy has the Canadian-style taped buttons, whilst the original jacket just had badly-stitched buttons. Drawcord hood closure is as per the original, with the strange Y-shaped device, fitted (again as per the original) backwards, with the white button facing outwards! The two rank tabs (front and back) are a mistake, however - they aren't present on the original (Special Forces don't single out the officers for early assassination), and will only be removed by civilian wearers. Quality control note - the drawcord in the bottom hem was made of three separate bits of tape stitched together - easily replaced, but really? In summary, this is a comfortable, breathable, windproof, showerproof outer layer that isn't overtly military, easily worn over other clothing, and a good fit for a 6-footer.
