“I'm not an engineer but did research to find a best oil for 2017 Mazda CX5 diesel, took guidance from Opie too. Chose Shell on specification and value & have used it every service. Professional who maintains the car seems very pleased as am I. I also use same oil in Subaru Outback, same comment, excellent lubricant.”
“The Shell Helix range seemed to have the best compromise spec. over a wide range of oil brands - there is a lot of online resources on this. 0w-30 was chosen to ramp up early oil changes on a new vehicle and to get the multigrade compliance with the manufacturers requirements. Older vehicles I run with a 5w40.
Seems to work well, and the engine feels and sounds smooher than the OEM Petronas offering.”
