I used this in my 2015 Seat Leon FR 2.0 TDI 184 with the 6 speed manual gearbox and it seems to be a good improvement over the nearly 100k old oil that was in there and it is significantly cheaper than the VW genuine stuff

Bought this oil for my seat Leon 150hp 2.0tdi. oil change was very simple but the bottles do not come with a full tube, like most other companies. Once the job was completed I noticed that the my gearbox would not select a gear from cold. Once warm was fine. I did add a molyslip for extra protection in the gearbox and Opie oils have said that is what has caused the poor selection from cold. Could be possible but in my 25 years of working on cars, this has never bee the case. Changed the oil for the SEAT specced oil with a moly slip and had been perfect. This oil did not work for me in my Leon MK3 gearbox.

Hi, That is very strange. That oil is incredibly well proven in that gearbox, my boss used it in his Leon and it sorted out the issues that he was having with the standard oil. Being completely honest, we sell about 200L of it every month (probably a third to a half of that is for VW boxes) and have sold that kind of amount for about 12 years or so with very, very few issues. We don't recommend additives, although Molyslip is probably the least harmful of the ones on the market, but you can never be 100% sure how an oil will react with an additive.
