The Zephyr GTX Mid is an extremely versatile, lightweight boot, offering outstanding support and comfort, and are designed to perform in a wide variety of different environments.
“I purchased a pair of LOWA Zephyr MK2 GTX MID Boot - Black, they're lighter tham my Adidas GSG 9.4. But they are a bit stiff, probably because they are new and need more time to break them in. First impression is they are extremely well made and live up to their description. I wear them during my metropolitan police CBV volunteer deployments and so far they've stood up to the heavy use they've been put through. I feel confident that after wearing them a bit longer they'll be just fine. If not, I will provide a further update.”
“I really like these boots, they're comfortable and light and let the feet breath. The only thing I don't like is the grip, they're not very good in wet conditions and tend to slip easily. I've just replaced my black pair after having the last pair for about a year.”
“I’ve had lots of boots in my time from walking to being in the armed forces and security. I heard good things about these but from new and a year on they are dangerously slippy on wet surfaces such as flag stones, rock, and hard floor. The soles wore though substantially in the first few months and they get damp walking through wet grass. They are comfortable, light, and supportive but need the above issues addressing. Maybe I just got a bad pair but I don’t dare order another set just incase.”
“I have a complaint about my new walking boots that I ordered on the 30 0f March 2023.
The problem is that the rubber on the soles is chipping and breaking down already on the toe and heal end I only use them for light walking and as you will see in the picture
There is very little wear on the soles. I have to say I am very disappointed I have had many Lowa boots over the years but these boots are substandard and the rubber is too
soft I would like to return them”
Hi William,
Thanks for the review, but sorry to hear you're unhappy with your Zephyr's. Have you spoken to our customer services team about this? That would be the best course of action, and you should be able to reach them via the contact form here: https://www.lowa.co.uk/pages/contact-us
“I have these boots a little over a year now and I do like them as there really comfortable and lite, but I do find them to be poor on wet ground and muddy conditions plus the grips on the sole of the boots are chipping and breaking away, even though there the gortex boots I think there better suited to summer conditions, Ive a pair of Lowa Caminos which are an excellent boot,so I wouldn't buy the Zephyr again unfortunately.”
“best boots ever - 5 years strong and my companion on all of them. Comfortable as a trainer (and as light too!), supportive and just stunning IMO. Would be hard to find a better shoe!”
“10 stars! I love my Zephyrs. They are true work horses - bought my first pair 4 years ago and only just needing an upgrade (GTX is still intact but tread is almost worn out). Comfortable straight out of the box and NEVER EVER had a blister (SERIOUSLY) - something I've struggled with for years with other shoes. I have flat feet and that doesn't seem to be an issue in these. Handsome looking shoe, light as a trainer, dependable, versatile and supportive and waterproof. I'm loathe to chuck my old ones - they're a pride possession. They've got me up Kilimanjaro twice, 2 trips into the Everest region in the Himalayas, Atlas mountains 3 months of backpacking, Mt Olympus, Scotland, Yosemite, and my weekend walks.
They will be missed. Will defo grab another paid once I can afford :) BEST HIKING SHOE ON MARKET. Recommended to a friend and he loves them too. BUY !”
