“These are the second pair of Camino boots I've owned - so I guess this review is mostly based on the first pair. I tend to roll heavy if the ground is uneven so always choose sturdy boots for protection. The Caminos aren't the lightest backpacking boot, but the weight is well worth the peace of mind that comes with knowing you're unlikely to suffer a twisted ankle. That said, they fit so well I don't notice the weight even on long multi day hikes. I've used mine in all weather for weeks at a time. They're comfortable for long days - 34 miles in a single day in July (genuinely). I've never had a blister with any Lowa boots, but always upgrade the stock insoles. My previous Caminos lasted several years of three season use (I've got some Rangers for winter) and eventually failed due to the edge of the rubber rand on the toes rubbing right through the leather. There are stronger boots (cue the Rangers), but for all round comfort and capability the Caminos are hard to beat.”
