I’m sensitive, medium skin with HP issue’s. I used this Vit c serum for 3 days continuous at night and I saw small red acne in my chin area and a big acne popping out soon on my cheek. I stopped immediately and they went away. This was the only new product I introduced in my skin regimen . Even though lot of people like it, it’s not for me.

I feel conflicted about this product. As it seems to be working well on my skin, having used it for several weeks. The formula on application feels very oily on my combination skin. Ingredients list olive oil? No matter how long I wait before moisturiser the oiliness remains and I have to use some form of powder to counteract it. Which feels slightly contradictory to me. The instructions say apply to "problem areas". I was looking for something that could work all over face as part of daily skin care routine. Considering there are other Ascorbic acid products that work well and easier to apply I don't think I will be purchasing it again.

I bought this because I have sensitive skin and at 45 am now having to deal with hormonal breakouts. I liked that it was more stable than L ascorbic acid and less likely to oxidise as quickly. I didn't realise that I had to ease into using this, I wrote to Facetheory to ask for some advice: I've used this 5 times in total. Day and night for 2 days after applying serum, the 4th use I mixed it with cream then applied to my skin as I was worried that I'd used it consistently and concerned that I might react. I'd used 3 drops the first 2 days. I didn't react at all using this 4 times, when I mixed the vitamin c serum with my cream in my hand my hand felt warm. The warm sensation is similar to some mud masks I've used before so the sensation didn't alarm me. The third day following 2 days of using the vitamin c serum I washed my face with Cerave's Salicylic acid and my skin reacted like I'd been sunburnt, I've used 2/3 of the bottle and haven't had an issue before with this face wash. The same happened the following day when using the face wash and I'd used half the amount in case l reacted again, which I did but nowhere near as severe. By this stage I was thinking that the vitamin c serum had cause some sensitivity to my skin, although it hasn't reacted upon application. I've given the vitamin c serum 4 days rest and used 1 drop of the vitamin c serum mixed with cream and applied after serum. This 5th use my face felt warm. I woke with one whitehead spot and a few other small spots but not sure if it's hormonal. Is this normal? Should I be using easing into using this like L ascorbic acid, I didn't think I needed to as this is a derivative. I received a reply: You're using the serum way too many times, it should be used x3 during the first week, every other day during the second week and then once a day max after that. We also don't recommend mixing it with the cream, just apply 2 drops directly to your face, let it dry a little bit then apply the moisturiser. I was surprised to receive these instructions as the bottle doesn't mention easing into use. I was surprised how quickly I received the reply, Facetheory has AMAZING customer service. I have been using this serum for 1 month now and it feels like it's shortening the life of a spot. The small ones go after a day. I dab the serum onto spots/scars every morning, then apply a propolis serum and then sunscreen. I can see what people mean when they talk about the bacon smell, personally it doesn't smell like bacon at all as I love bacon. The smell is distinctive but like anything you get used to it. The serum is thick in consistency and takes a little while to absorb, it feels smooth and velvety. All in all I'm pretty happy with it and wjll repurchase.

I bought this product 2 weeks ago, I use it every morning and evening. Like the serum but a bit thick and takes time to be absorbing .

I used this serum very sparingly on my face for the 1st time and within an hour or so I could feel a itchy sensation around my eyes. As the day went on my eyes started to get more inflamed and the following day my eyes were almost shut. I obviously stopped using this product immediately. Over the next few days after consulting my Dr and being prescribed to with anti histamine and hydrocortisone cream my eyes started to return to normal. I have never experienced anything like this before with serums or any other facial product. I would just like to make consumers aware what they can do to your skin and to patch test before use.

Hi Kirsten Sorry to hear this. We'll get a refund sorted for you. As you say we always recommend a test on a small area first as even though the ingredients are generally well tolerated allergic reactions can sometimes occur. Sorry again. Jamie

This is my first time on this site. I searched throughout web a vitamin C that is stabilized and suitable for sensitive skin. I love it. My skin texture and discoloration are improved. I bought twice in the end, two bottle for me and one for my boyfriend. I am waiting for my retinol cream now.
