“I must have done something wrong because I was unable to get a water tight seal using the recommended 8 turns of loctite tape on an 1/2 thread. The joint still had a tiny weep but I am no plumber, I also tried PTFE tape but this gave an even worse result. I had a plumber call a few day later he said you would need at least 20 turns of loctite, but by this time I had given up and sought a different solution which used compression joints.”
