This produces a very nice and tough finish on model by either being sprayed or brushed on.

I’ve been using this to prepair the are of a decal then to also clear coat cover the decal after application to seal it in place. Not sure as a novice modeller if it’s the correct material to use but it works very well and easy to use.

As an airbrush user I find Tamiya clear Gloss/Matt/Semi gloss are perfect. Quick drying and hard wearing. A couple of light coats will do the trick. However, if you use with a brush they will need thinning and you will have to apply them quickly or else you will have problems which will lead to frustration.

I paid £7.99 for express delivery, my order was placed on Sunday so obviously it wouldn’t be processed until Monday, today is Wednesday and no sign of my order. I placed a similar order last week without express delivery and received it in two days. To say the least I’m not impressed.

Tamiya paints are acrylic (water based), and I find that trying to brush paint any substantial area to be impossible, due to the very quick drying time. They do, however lend themselves ideally to airbrushing. I always give my models at least 3 finishing coats of Clear Flat Varnish. This handy little pot is well suited for those hard to reach places, and any touching up required when masking has been removed after the final airbrushed coat. It is, in my opinion well worth the paltry purchase price, and if looked after, will last for many projects to come. All in all, it is the best clear acrylic to be had, and I recommend it to any one who has jobs to do as stated above.
