I rarely post reviews but this was bought for our boys seventh birthday last week. It's not run out of batteries yet and spent last Sunday going up and down our local hills/ small mountain! It went off road, through wooded sections, steep hills, through cracked dry paths, over rocks - nothing stopped it Not even when he tried to drive it down 7 steep steps : it made the first two, then tumbled, bounced over 3 times and landed on its wheels and drove off! So many people saw him driving it and looked amazed that a small car could do so much. The suspension is out of this world. We are not professionals or anything but this is the best £45 We've spent on him in the seven years. It's not super speedy but that's not what it's meant for plus whenever he's had fast ones they're too fast for him to control. Thanks so much for making such a wonderful toy!

Wanted more than a 'toy' that my 7 year old son could use in the garden and on local (shingle) beach. No experience in RC models but advice from other suppliers seemed to suggest I needed to spend well over £100 for anything 'half decent'. Wonderland staff pointed me at this and they were spot on. Only a week old and he can drive/steer easily, isn't going to kill anyone (not one of these 30mph models) but - as the name suggests - it can go pretty much anywhere (even tries to climb up side of sofa). Comes highly recommended (based on first week of use) - need to get a spare battery (shame it doesn't come with spare battery as 'standard' but can't really expect for less than forty quid). Only 'snag' was having to pay so much extra for postage - shame there is no 'wonderland' shop in our local area.

I saw this on The Gadget show and hunted it down. Wonderland was cheapest I could find and delivery was fast and efficient. I wanted a remote control car for my 4 year old, and whilst I could buy a cheap thing for a tenner, it would no doubt die in a week so was happy with something a bit more. I also wanted something that wouldn't go too fast as a 4 year old with a 50 mile an hour projectile is scary, and could go over different surfaces, inside, in garden etc. First thing he did was drive it straight over the 4 inch high hearth on the fireplace. No problem. Scatter 20 toys around living room and drive over them, no problem. Tree roots, np. Great fun and highly recommended.

I bought this as a birthday present for my 8 year old. He loves it! It's easy to use and he's had fun setting up obsticle courses for it to drive over. I love the fact that it uses re-chargable batteries (included), it will save a fortune. His brother now wants one for his birthday!

My 8 year old is loving his Rock Crawler.Easy to control, with sharp responsive remote control.Unit appears to be quite robust and furniture taking a bit of a beating.Due to weather conditions we have only had limited use outdoors but it did perform well in the snow covered rear garden.Full range not tested yet.Good advise at time of purchase was to buy a second battery pack.Charging and changeover of battery childs play. Delighted with purchase and great value for money.

Bought this for my 9 year old and it's been great - no building, works straight out of the box and so far has been robust enough to take the abuse thrown at it. For the price it's superb value - clearly it's not going to last as long as a much more expensive model but for young kids it's fantastic. Only downside is that it has no proportional control - it's full power forward or reverse - but that's not really a problem for this kind of price. Overall - very pleased and excellent value for money.

Purchased for Christmas (2010) for our nearly 6 year old & it is a hit... found pride of place in his bedroom! 7.5yr old big sister is gutted she hasn't got one :-( She can control it really well! (and their 13yr old cousin is gutted too!). For small kids its quick but not too fast ie. it's controllable! a good thing. Helps to avoid too many bumps and bangs (or running Nanna over). I'm impressed it seems quite durable, it can be manoevered to go over all sorts of obstacles... perfect with loads of christmas stuff in the way. The excuse.... you have to clear everything up first no longer applies (as it would to other "normal" lower end RC cars. I am seriously impressed - ideal for a wide range of kids/young people & probably the best / most practical / most fun / most usable RC car I've ever owned!
