The Revell London Bus AEC Routemaster in 1/24 scale from the plastic models range accurately recreates the real life British classic public transport vehicle. This plastic bus kit requires paint and glue to complete. Revell colors required: 34, 90, 91, 99, 302, 314, 331, 378.The AEC Routemaster was presented to the public for the first time in 1954. Compared with the previous bus types the Routemaster, with its integral chassis and bodywork design, was considered to be a real innovation. The double-decker, which was mass produced from 1958, was in particular characterised by the open boarding platform on the rear left allowing quick "hop on and off". At the end of the 1950s a change in regulations allowed in addition the operation of over thirty-foot long buses on only two axles. Some Routemasters were subsequently divided in the middle and a central bay inserted in the middle recognisable by square windows. The new bus type, the Routemaster Lengthened, in short RML, now had room for a total of 72 passengers. The resounding success with 15 test vehicles persuaded London Transport to order a further 500 of the RMLs, which were produced from 1965 to 1968. In the 1970s more and more RMLs were in service in central London. With the constant presence of the double-deckers, kept in the typical red, on almost all routes the image of the Routemaster as a typical symbol of London was noticeably consolidated. Not until in 2005, after almost 50 years of continuous use, was the general operation of this hallmark of London discontinued. ROUTEMASTER is a registered trademark of Transport for London.Model Details: Multi-part body panels Detailed reproduction of the surface structures Reproduction of the complete passenger area with 72 seats Detailed cockpit Multi-part Leyland and Scania engine Moveable bonnet Multipart underfloor Rotating tyres Typical open entrance area Two separate passenger decks Optionally removable roof segment Lots of transparent parts Transfer picture for two RML versions Revell have also just released a model of a London Taxi in 1/24 scale.Manufacturer: RevellModel: 07651 London Bus AEC Routemaster Model KitScale: 1/24

Great to build have done one but starting another and will paint it green. Spare transfers and country area blinds route 409 from Kingfisher cardboard models. Would be nice for a RF Greenline and an RT in 1/24 gauge think these would sell well

Purchased just to try a different type of model in a scale I'm not used to. Could do with a driver and conductor as well to give it a lift.

First thing to say is that this is a 1:24 model kit but don't let that fool you into thinking this is a small kit, because its not. At nearly 40 cm in length its nearly on par with some 1:16 kits out there. Also the instruction manual is 28 pages so this shows how much is needed for this kit, I would say its not for the faint of heart or a beginner due to the amount of parts. Its a shame the kit does not include a driver and a conductor, however this kit is in scale with G Scale model railways, so picking up seated passengers etc. would not be too difficult to add a little extra to this kit if so wished. All in all the quality of the kit is great with little to no flashing on the parts and there is also a lot of detail and scope to make a realistic display and in my opinion is worth the money.

I haven't got round to starting this model yet but from what I have seen it is a very clean and well prepared kit of a well loved blast from my past. I am looking forward to getting started.

Amazing kit, lots of parts will keep you busy for hours. Looks really great as you build it up haven't quite finished this yet but out of all the 1:24 models I have made this is one of my favourite. I mostly do air kits but am really enjoying the Bus. Excellent value am half tempted to buy another to have a pair of them. Great customer service for Wonderland as ever keep up the good work.
