A solvent-based enamel primer with a metallic finish.The Humbrol Enamel Paints range offers a wide selection of colours. Oil-based paints that have to be thinned using chemical thinners.UsageA solvent-based, fast dry paint developed for use on plastic model kits but which can also be used on other substrates. Matt, Satin, Gloss, Metallic, Metalcote and Clear finishes are available.SubstrateA wide range of surfaces including most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, sealed plaster, sealed hardboard and more (always check on a small test area to check suitability).ApplicationBrush straight from the tin or Airbrush with a suitable thinner such as Humbrol Enamel Thinners. Two thin coats are preferable to one thick coat. The usual thinning ratio is 2 parts paint to one part thinner. Note that Metalcote colours are designed to be polished when fully dry.Drying TimeMatt & Satin: 20-40 minutes touch dry and upto 24 hours for hard dry. Drying times will vary according to ambient temperature and humidity. Recoat: 6 hours minimum (preferably over night).CoverageA 14ml tinlet covers approx 0.3m2 depending on thickness of application.How to CleanBrushes: Use Enamel Thinners. I used this paint to pick out brass detail parts on a model steam locomotive. The Humbrol ‘brass’ paint is more like bronze and this one matches brass almost perfectly

My favourite red, have been using it for many years! Richer and more opaque than the others, whether from Humbrol or Revell. Comes closest to being a 'baseline' red i.e. not too orange, not too blue!
