Panasonic Lumix TZ70 Silver Reviews

5 Rating 4 Reviews
Read Wilkinson Cameras Reviews

The LUMIX TZ70 combines an ultra-wide-angle 24mm LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with a state of the art 30x optical zoom for amazing performance and versatility. Intelligent Zoom further extends the zoom ratio to 60x while maintaining the best picture quality possible. When combined with the LUMIX TZ70’s advanced HYBRID O.I.S.+ (Hybrid Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) 5-Axis system, even high zoom video shots can avoid the problem of hand-shake vibration. The 12.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor is over 1.5 times larger than the sensor found in the LUMIX TZ60 and allows you to take stunning pictures even in low light. The LUMIX TZ70 also offers image recording in RAW format, enabling dramatically higher quality image development from the data captured, so each photo can be reproduced sharply and with minimal noise. The LUMIX TZ70 also sports a 0.2-inch Live View Finder (LVF) with an eye-sensor. Its crystal clear 1,166k-dot resolution is for stable, accurate framing when using zoom or manual focusing. It’s ideal for following the movement distant objects, or when the sunlight makes it difficult to see the camera’s 3-inch LCD screen. The LUMIX TZ70’s control ring, located on the lens barrel, provides an intuitive way to capture your creative vision with ease and precision. Smoother control of exposure and zoom allows you to concentrate on framing the perfect picture and pressing the shutter at the perfect moment. It also provides easier access to frequently-used settings such as aperture, shutter speed, focus, filter effect, and scene mode. A camera that’s always on hand Panasonic has used its extensive experience of compact camera development to evolve the internal structure of the LUMIX TZ70. A series of sliding components and a retractable lens barrel result in a sleeker, compact design that fits into your pocket. And with a solid grip on the front of the camera, it can also be controlled with just one hand.

Great camera and service. A YouTube video of how to get the most from it would be appreciated

Excellent zoom range, which I specifically wanted. Good image quality throughout the range, using maximum resolution and quality. As a compact, this is excellent. I have large hands, but the thumb grip on the rear and finger grip on the front make it easy to grip securely. Many shooting modes, of which I tend to use P, A and S, and occasionally iA. All give good quality images. I like that I can customise some of the buttons and controls, to reflect what I am most likely to want to adjust. Customisable display is also useful. Battery life seems to be good, but I have bought a couple of spares so that I'm not left without. Image stabilization helps to counter the effect of the 30x zoom, where camera shake is hard to avoid - a small movement of the camera will translate to much greater movement in the distance. Very pleased with every aspect of this camera.

I have been delighted at the quality of images produced by this little gem. The range of shooting options is amazing, I greatly appreciate the in camera processing options; especially the HDR programme that produces amazing results in difficult contrast situations. Last but not least is the super telephoto range. The TZ70 was purchase as an occasional alternative to my Nikon D3700 kit when out walking which is getting rather heavy and bulky for an octogenarian but the results I am getting from the TZ puts the Nikon in the shade and I am looking to sell the Nikon on.

Great compact super-zoom camera bought as an upgrade for a TZ40 (another great camera) because the TZ70 has a viewfinder and my close up sight isn't what it used to be. I find that I can now manage without specs. One slight problem - I still haven't managed to adjust focus when in manual focus mode. Hope this isn't a fault.

Thank you for leaving a review. To use manual focus mode, please first select MF mode by pressing the left button on the navigation wheel on the rear of the camera. Then use the up and down buttons on the wheel to choose "set the focus manually." Once enabled, you simply turn the control ring around the lens barrel to adjust the focus. You'll also see the MF assist screen will appear on your monitor. More information can be found in your manual on page 97. Please get in touch if you need any more information.
