This is the first pair of binoculars I’ve ever bought. I’ve only ever used my dads old pair of Miranda 10x50’s and just assumed all binoculars were roughly the same. I wanted a pair with higher magnification to view the moon. I was blown away by how much better these are and how crisp and clear the view is. They are very heavy and with this magnification they do suffer with image shake so I will be investing in a decent tripod. My only criticism is the bag they come with is very flimsy with very little padding. I would have happily paid extra for a much better quality and more protective bag.

Delighted with these binoculars. Orion's Sword star cluster clear is a jewel even in London's not so dark skies. Binoculars were delivered quickly and safely, very well packaged. Excellent lens covers and transit bag. Perfect for Astronomy and Bird watching.

Excellent product, although original binoculars had a fault. Wilkinsons very quick to respond and were replaced.

Review of Celestron Skymaster 20X80 binoculars. These binoculars are tremendous value for money. They are cheaper than most standard size binoculars but offer four times the light gathering power of a pair of 10X40s. They give a much sharper image than my old 15X70 Helios binoculars that I purchased 20 years ago and are cheaper to boot! They are light enough to hand hold to locate astronomical objects such as star clusters, but are best mounted on a tripod to see fine detail such as the craters of the moon. In fact, the moon really shines in these bins as the extra power over a standard pair of 10X50s gives four times the area magnification, and being so bright in the night sky, it is is more comfortable to view with both eyes than with one eye through a telescope. They have plenty of eye relief, so are easy to use wearing glasses. Don't buy these for viewing birds outside your window, however, as the closest focus is about 100 feet. The shop (which I am not allowed to name) needs to get another pair in the window, as they won't sell any in the back room. Andrew Taylor Worsley, Manchester
