This is a super, well-made case which really does the job, handles nicely out and about, and offers good protection. Four stars rather than five as the front pocket where a laptop would normally go is open at the top, with no zip or other closure, which could be impractical in wet weather (though the case does come with a pull-out rain cover) and vulnerable to theft. That said, I have managed to fit my small laptop inside the case on top of my other gear. Overall I am very pleased with it.

As a straight roller for your camera gear, it is great, well made and sturdy, but as soon as you add a laptop to the front, it borderline makes it too big for overhead lockers in planes, and it tends to fall forward. Also the reserve back pack is so uncomfortable to carry as to make it useless, the straps are very thin with no padding and the back pack has hard bulges that clearly sit around the arms of the roller when in its full case, but make it extremely painful when on your back. As a result, I am very disappointed with the purchase, especially given the price and if I could return it I would, sadly I didn't realise the defects until I used it abroad!

I wanted to upgrade my large camera bag to one with wheels as the rucksack type used to get quite heavy when walking through airports. Having looked at the sizes, the X100 AW seemed the best option, it being within dimensions for air travel, and easily able to hold all my current camera gear with room for a little more. The bag works well - I used it for a trip to the USA. There were no problems with carry-on size on the international sectors, but it only just fitted in the overhead storage on the internal American Airlines flights. Nobody questioned it, and I wasn't stopped (there were a few others who had bags that were just a little larger that had to go into the hold). The bag is very flexible in how the internal dividers can be configured, and there is plenty of space for my five lenses, one body, flash gun, gorilla pod and a few other small items, with space to spare. I can't get my 17 inch laptop in the bag (but it is only advertised as being capable of taking a 15 inch laptop). It is well padded and well made, with good quality large zips (plus the lock). The wheels and extending handle work well, and the carrying handle is very comfortable when lifting and carrying the bag. I have not yet tried the "Reserve Pack" capability, the rain cover, or the tripod straps. So far, a good bag that should last, and be capable of safely transporting all my kit when required. Plus it is available at a good price.
