“Giving this 3 stars based on my limited experience so far which is about 1 week. I bought it largely because it was hugely discounted and I anticipated getting one at some point in the future. I don't actually need much of the functionality but the huge discount swayed me. I do tend to get the most capable products I can afford as I prefer to grow into rather than out of them. So far I've found the registration process to be very frustrating. It's a bit of a faff, made worse by a lack of compatibility with my Nikon Z8 - it's necessary to enter a *Raw ID" which is obtained when the monitor is connected to the camera. Unfortunately the Z8 doesn't output a Raw video signal. I had to research this although when I contacted the Atomos customer support they were able to confirm this was why I'd been having issues getting the Raw ID. Whilst this didn't actually prevent me registering the monitor it did leave me trying to establish what I was doing wrong. Basically, a camera compatibility list would be useful. Furthermore, the monitor doesn't come packaged with a full user manual either, just a "quick start" guide so again I am left to research settings etc. Not a huge detail but they retail at over £1000 so I don't think I'm asking too much. I will add that the Z8 doesn't come with one either. Beyond this it appears to be well built and despite the lack of a manual, the functionality seems fairly intuitive and I anticipate being able to get to grips with it fairly easily. The screen is bright and clear and responds well to touch. I immediately placed a screen protector on it and this doesn't seem to impact its responsiveness.”
