Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 A3+ Printer
The imagePROGRAF PRO-300 can truly bring images to life in print form, thanks to both print technology and software that gives users confidence in faithful reproduction of their original images. With exceptional monochrome printing, and vivid colour printing up to A3+, the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 is ideal for advanced level photographers looking to submit their prints for competitions, galleries, exhibitions or sales. The imagePROGRAF PRO-300 also works seamlessly with EOS camera technology to unlock unique features such as HDR and DPRAW print to achieve a higher level of print quality.
Free Professional Print & Layout (PPL) plugin and software
The PPL plugin works either as standalone software or a plugin through Canon’s Digital Photo Professional imaging software, or Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Govern layout settings as well as preview the printed image or monitor and select colour management and profiling, using soft proofing’ and ‘hard proofing’ functions to enable accurate screen-to-print matching. Many other exciting options are accessible such as split gallery wrap printing and panoramic printing as well as access to EOS camera only functions such as DPRAW* and HDR. *Only in EOS cameras equipped with the DPRAW function
Nozzle Misfire Detection
The imagePROGRAF PRO-300 detects if any nozzle is not firing correctly, and thanks to Canon’s print head design which incorporates a number of spare nozzles, fires backup nozzles to ensure no banding in the image whilst it is being printed.
Paper Skew Correction
For instances when paper may not be aligned correctly when fed through the printer, Paper Skew Correction on the imagePROGRAF PRO-300 automatically corrects and feeds through to ensure a perfectly level print on the paper.
Ink Tank Density Checking
The imagePROGRAF PRO-300’s intelligent printing system checks the density levels of ink tanks, and periodically moves the ink tanks to shake the cartridges, ensuring ink density levels are consistent throughout each tank, to ensure consistent print quality.
Crystal-fidelity
Use PPL software to achieve the highest level of print fidelity from images captured on EOS Cameras. Functions such as DPRAW* Print and HDR Print can read the image data from EOS cameras, to reproduce the sharp areas of an image, as well as recover highlights from single exposure images. *Only in EOS cameras equipped with the DPRAW function.

Lives up to all expectations re. photographic prints, especially for the quality of B & W prints - which is the reason I bought it. With careful setting, it prints to the very edge of the paper. It is comparatively frugal in use of ink. The display with instructions are perhaps a little cumbersome, where you have to follow the sequence through to the end, or where it does not automatically change the paper size setting although already loaded. Relatively neat, compared, say, with the PRO 9000.

Early days but I am impressed with this printer. It was easy to set up and install. The print quality is outstanding. The Canon Professional Print and Layout software is excellent and easy to use.

All the online reviews that rave about the print quality from this printer are true. Setup was a bit complicated partly because my network is both wired and wireless. After some frustrating experimentation I discovered that if I remove all wired connections and just used WiFi the setup process worked. So far I have used the Canon Professional Print app to print images rather than wrangling with Lightroom's Photo tab and it works quite well. Wish it was integrated with Capture One as well.

I don't normally do these, but Wilkson camera has been great to deal with, also a really fast turnaround from the time of order to delevery was 3 days, to say I was pleased is an understatement. would I recommend them oh yes

I recently bought a Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-300 printer to replace a cheaper Pixma printer, as I was wanting to improve the quality of my printed output and have the choice of a wider range of papers including fine art and heavier weight papers. Set up of the printer was very straightforward, as was getting the latest printer driver from Canon's website. I also downloaded Canon's Professional Print and Layout software which I had heard can give better results than Lightroom. Results with test images were significantly better from the Canon software than Lightroom both in colour fidelity and reproduction of colour gradients which were frankly poor from Lightroom. The printer driver comes with profiles for all Canon-brand papers, and I have downloaded profiles from Fotospeed for all of their brand papers. It is early days, but the images I have produced so far on different paper types have been excellent at A4 size, I have yet to do any A3 or A3+ output. Of course to get best results you need a colour-managed workflow to ensure consistency and no nasty surprises. There are many helpful blogs and YouTube resources dedicated to getting the best out of this printer. I had been wanting to upgrade my printer for a while, but the previous generation of Canon Pro A3 printers were all too large for my limited office space. This model and the Pro-200 are significantly smaller and lighter and this persuaded me to make the change now.

It’s early days yet and I am still learning, but the first prints that I have produced are stunning. I am very satisfied with this printer.
