Thanks I am well aware I can use CPS but if I do so (and I am a platinum member) I have been told by your team I just then pay for my own repair, as you won’t cover the cost. Hence it’s hardly a solution so don’t try and pretend somehow you are being helpful - when in fact it means your warranty is worth nothing as I have to finance my own repair if I want it done quickly. Wilkinson expects me to send my gear to canon, or to send via them which will take over 4 weeks which as a professional I cannot wait for a simple repair on a warranty they have provided. Absolutely shocking service and told if I wish to have it turned around quicker, or with a loan item, I must pay for and facilitate my own repairs. How is this any form of service - avoid Wilkinson at all costs.

You were informed that this may not be possible as turnaround times can vary depending on the fault and whether parts are available. You must understand that we cannot work any faster than Canon's own service department and we were trying to make sure that you knew that the turnaround time you have demanded may not be possible. We would rather be upfront with you to avoid disappointment down the line. As you are a professional photographer, then we strongly urge you to take advantage of Canon Professional Services (CPS) which offer both expedited service and loan equipment. If you are a CPS member, we can ensure that Canon are aware of this and turn your lens around within their current CPS times. Applications take around 15 minutes to complete and 48 hours to process. All the information about CPS, including costs, can be found here: https://www.canon.co.uk/pro/canon-professional-services/ Your lens is still under the CoverPlus warranty period, so once we receive your lens and send it for assessment we can update you on the most likley turnaround time. Hi Laura, I'd ask that you contact us via email so that we can see your replies - we do not get notified if you just edit your review to add more information. You can contact us by email using sales@wilkinson.co.uk. I have read through your Live Chat transcript with one of my colleagues and you are misunderstanding. Your item is still under our CoverPlus Warranty and we are not asking you to pay for any repairs yourself. If your item is covered by the warranty (please ensure you have read the information provided to you) then there will be no costs to you, other than postage. If you are a CPS member, we can be sure to send this to Canon on a CPS service to ensure the fastest turnaround. If you are a CPS member then you may be able to book out a loan from Canon if this lens cannot be turned around in the time you need. My colleague didn't say that your repair would take over 4 weeks - she merely pointed out that, especially with bank holidays on April 7th and April 10th and the current lead-time on a lot of spare parts, that you are unlikley to receive your lens back in time for your trip. She said that repairs are taking 3-4 weeks, sometimes longer, as standard at the moment... but you have told us you need your lens back before April 24th. This is just 12 working days, excluding any transit times. Surely you would rather we were honest and upfront with you so that you are able to make alternative arrangements? We would like to help you get your lens back into working order, but we don't want to promise a service we can't guarantee to fulfill, especially if you have work which relies on the use of this lens. The reason I provided you with the information about CPS is because you said in your Live Chat earlier today that you weren't currently a member. It's great to hear that you are in fact a member and this will allow us to ensure the fastest turnaround times for your repair. Please be sure to use the information provided on the links I sent to you to a) make sure your lens will be covered by warranty and b) to allow you to understand the repair procedure and how to get your lens to us. With the long weekend coming up, we'd advise sending it ASAP to avoid further delay. To ensure you have all the information you need, I'm going to forward a copy of your Live Help transcript from earlier and also pop this reply and my previous reply in a help ticket for you.
