Stunning images even in low-light
The large 1-inch 20.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS Sensor improves the S/N ratio, making it possible to capture clear images with minimum noise, even when shooting at ISO12800 / extended ISO25600. The wide maximum aperture also helps to produce an impressive shallow depth of field. The FZ2000 lets you create truly stunning images in a wide variety of shooting situations.
Newly developed photo/video hybrid lens
The new Leica Vario-Elmarit 24-480mm f2.8-4.5 DC lens boasts high optical performance for both stills and moving image. This lens system features an inner zoom structure with guide pole mechanism for smooth, stable zooming, and dramatically suppresses image shift by 80% compared to the FZ2000's predecessor. A coreless DC motor also enables slow constant zooming from wide to 20x tele-end. A galvanometer drive iris, which is used in professional broadcast cameras, smoothly catches up with sudden changes in brightness. This assures smooth, seamless iris control even when zooming.
20x optical zoom in a compact body
The new Leica Vario-Elmarit 24-480mm lens has an f2.8-4.5 aperture that resists blurring even for telephoto shots, and an angle of view that extends from 24mm wide-angle to 20x optical zoom while still maintaining the body size. The lens unit consists of 16 elements in 11 groups, including 4 ED lenses, 5 aspherical surfaces with 8 aspherical surfaces, and a UHR lens. This lens meets leica’s stringent standards in the MTF value and in the suppression of ghosting and flare.
Video creation meets professional quality
The Lumix FZ2000 further evolves to meet professional quality standards with the capability of 4K-video recording MOV/MP4 and ultra-high bitrate full hd video recording at 200mbps. In addition, a variety of practical functions required for professional video capture are also newly integrated.
Everything in the right place
The well-defined grip provides a stable hold with minimum fatigue despite its substantial weight. The front/rear dual dial system enables direct setting of shutter speed and aperture. The optimum dial, button, lever and switch layout provides intuitive, comfortable control for both photo and video shooting.

It has all the features you could wish for in an enthusiast camera and more. The colour science is good. All unfortunately let down by a very average lens and shocking auto focus. In anything but perfect light the auto focus is simply useless. Very unreliable and hunts between subject and background. The lens, even when additional sharpness is applied is soft and cannot realise sufficient detail. As the owner of an FZ1000 I expected more from the FZ2000 but felt sadly let down. Great concept but poor execution.

I have been looking to replace an ageing Fuji bridge camera, FinePix HS50EXR, which I was pleased with as a better than point and shoot camera. The only downside to this camera was the picture quality; though to be fair was generally very good. Purchasing the Lumix FZ2000 so far has not disappointed. Apart from the 42x superzoom of the HS50EXR; the 20x / 24-480mm f2.8-4.5 Leica lens of the FZ2000 with the 20-megapixel one-inch sensor, makes for sharp vivid photos.

A well equipped camera with lots of features. Might be a bit too heavily and awkward to use because of lens length for some users

Firstly I don't use video very often so I'm reviewing the camera for it's still photography capabilities. I'm led to understand that as a video camera it is very good camera but I will leave that to others to confirm. You will find a lot of reviews on the Internet knocking this camera as having 'soft' lens issues. However, with the right settings and an understanding that like a lot of other lenses they may not always be as tack sharp as you would like at their longest focal length you should be pleased with the results. I'm happy with it and it has met but not exceeded my expectations for a 1" sensor camera. Yes the Sony RX10 lV has a longer focal length at 600mm, has a degree of weather sealing, and is claimed to be sharper but hey, it's twice the price of this camera! Battery life, like a lot of cameras with EVFs and rear screen LV is okay but not stellar, Just use sensibly and you'll get 300 shots. Would I recommend it? Just do your research, including looking at lots of photos taken with the camera, don't concentrate on negative reviews only as people who are happy users don't post as often as others I read somewhere. You pay your money and you make your choice. I did and am happy with my purchase. Of course it will never be a match for my Nikon full frame camera but it does punch above it's weight and it is a lot, lot lighter to carry about all day! I'm putting some photos on just to give you an idea of what it can do although in your hands it will almost certainly do better I'm sure.

This is my 4th Panasonic in the FZ range, going back to the first of these "bridge" cameras. I even had a Canon DSLR in between but wasn't impressed with the image quality and sold it on. I think that there is a bit of snobbery regarding the more expensive DSLR's/mirrorless cameras, which are seen as being superior to these "lesser" bridge cameras. OK if you want to spend several £1000's on a body-only mirrorless etc. but do these produce an image quality that is so superior as to be noticed by the "casual" viewer? It is the composition etc. of the image that appeals and this FZ2000 is quite capable of producing photos of excellent quality at a fraction of the price of a DSLR etc. The capabilities of the camera are extensive and a potential purchaser can find more in-depth reviews online than can be quoted here. One review indicated that the video capability is so good as to be compared with dedicated video cameras in the $10-20k bracket. Many of the features of Panasonic "G" range are included, again, at a much lower price. So I think it is perception rather than capability that might deter some potential buyers. Recommended.
