“This wheelchair is the single reason I have any independence. I have always been an active person and I wanted to own a wheelchair that allowed me to continue walking my dog in the countryside, and covering lots of ground, which meant it needed to be an 8mph chair with good batteries. I also have significant positional needs and needed a chair that allowed me to lie flat. I had lots of discussion regarding options with WheelFreedom before settling on this chair, but since buying it I haven't regretted it at all. The chair allows me to lie completely flat, and even have my head lower than my legs where necessary, but is also comfortable when I am sat upright. The modular nature of the chair means that as my needs have changed and will change in the future the chair remains serviceable for me, I have already had changes made to the lateral supports and foam inserts into the backrest. The one drawback of this chair is that the lights stick out from the frame a long way and aren't resilient, meaning that they are very easily broken - I've decided to just give up and attach the bike lights I recommend this chair thoroughly, it has given me the right balance between good positioning and an active life.”
