“On initial installation, the weather station did not transmit any information to the console. Thinking it was a battery problem, that was replaced by a new one but no imprrovement. In discussion with the Technical support in the US (during Christmas week) it was decided that the issue might lie with the super capicitor. On inspection of the transmitter it appeared that the super capacitor terminals were not actually making contact with the printed circuit board. A simple application of solder with a soldering iron soon fixed that, and the unit has worked correctly ever since. How this unit ever passed any quality control is a mystery. The replacement Super Cap was not required.”
