“After owning a couple of previous Artem straps with tang buckles it was a no-brainer to purchase two loopless straps with deployant clasps.
Both new sets show signs of strap change damage (Breitling tool used) and appears to be of a softer material than previous models, I would imagine a sharp object would have no difficulty in cutting the strap ie coral rock if you actually dive like me.
The most worrying part is the clasp which actually fell apart during a dinner party! Luckily I caught the parts and my expense watch which could have cost me thousands ££££! If you’re new to Artem, there’s multiple options available now for sailcloth ie zuludiver, nothstar etc at least half the price. The Artem strap itself if finished to higher grade than the others but this has been my experience.
I’ve purchased no less than a dozen straps from watch obsession and they’ve been fantastic even sending me out a second clasp on this occasion and share my concerns. They reassured me that this clasp failure is not common and as they’re new stockists of Artem it’s too early for them to make a call but after speaking to Artem owners they’re satisfied at the moment.”
Thank you for your detailed review Deruke. After discussions with Artem, they have assured us that this is a very rare occurrence due to a faulty item. We are very thankful that you did not damage your watch and we appreciate you giving the product another chance.
