“The texture of the leather and the overall looks of the strap is good (beside the bumps towards the watch lugs) but the main complain is that the silicone underlay broke after 1 year in 2 spots where the strap going through the buckle (see attached image)!
And this is with ordinary use and by that I mean the strap only got wet a couple of times during this time.
I think this is the quickest to break despite being the most expensive and advertised as Performance strap (I wonder what kind of performance are they are referring to).”
Sorry to hear about the problems you have had with your Hirsch Performance watch strap Darius. It is clear to see that the strap has failed from the images you provided. “I bought this strap around 10 months ago and put it on a smartwatch for sports. I was wearing it almost non-stop during those 10 months including swimming (mostly pool but one open water swim in the sea) and running. The leather, which was my main concern, looks as good as on day one, absolutely amazing! Overall the strap is just really cool looking, I have to say. The rubber, however, isn't soft (compared to other natural or synthetic rubber straps that I personally own) and although not really something that caused me discomfort it has developed cracks near the pin buckle from putting it on and off. A more "performance" oriented rubber (as the name suggests) would be more appropriate here in my opinion.”
