“Needed something for our sensitive pup who suffers from upset stomach occasionally and also has had issues with scooting. The food is great, no issues switching and straight away good, firm, easy to pickup stools. No upset stomach and no scooting....BUT the amount of stools over the day was crazy, 8-12 poo's a day (all good and firm). Ended up having to increase walks and do a walk before bed just so he could go (and not worry about accidents in the night). So we decided to try another brand with less fibre. This dog food contains sweet potato, beet pulp and psyillium husk which are all great fibre sources and great if you dog has scooting issues but its just too much in one food for our dog! I have found a similar food with similar ingredients but with no beet pulp or psylillum husk and switched to that, still getting the great stools but only 3 a day so we wont use Walker and Drake again unless the fibre content gets lowered in the future.”
“I like everything about the cold pressed food .. have 3 shih 's 1 of which will eat this and loves it .
...the other 2 bit too fussy but will eat it occasionally ..I will be buying again xx”
“My dog is a very fussy eater I did try sample pack he loved it then I got 2kg bag but unfortunately he turned his nose up and refused to eat it. It’s not the product it’s the dog thanks”
“Was very impressed with food, delivery etc. Unfortunately after 2 days my fussy little monkey decided he wasn't going to eat it any more. Not unusual. He's done the same with every food I've tried him with!! He even does it with chicken but will come back to that. Will persevere though. He is a very small rescued street dog we have had for 6 years. You wouldn't think he'd be fussy!”
“dog delighted with sample pack but since ordering has refused to eat any after first feed!
such a shame - great service, design, content - but can't make her eat it!!”
Hi Sally, thank you for your feedback. We all know dogs can be fussy but keep persevering. Heres a few tips from our FAQ's to try and help you.
Getting fussy eaters onto a new food can sometimes be a problem.
1. Don’t be bossed by the dog!
2. Let’s assume your dog is happy and healthy? If not check with your vet before changing foods.
3. Transition slowly from the old food to the new food. Dogs often don’t like a change to their routine.
4. Try adding warm water and making the food into a porridge like consistency. Sometimes the novelty of a change in texture can work wonders.
5. Remove the food. If your dog refuses to eat the new food, remove the bowl after 15 minutes and try again several hours later.
6. Exercise – make sure your dog is well exercised, a tired dog is a hungry dog!
7. No table scraps or human meals!
Good luck
Kind regards
Walker & Drake
