Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear the doors have not met your expectations. One of the main features of the Inspire door set you purchased is for the doors to be able to fold flat back onto the wall, creating full open access between 2 rooms. To achieve this, it is required for the door to pass over the small bottom hinge block that fixes to the floor, and the hole you are referring to is a neat shaped cut out that allows for the door to operate correctly. For transparency, we do display close up images of this on our web site and product pages. After contacting you and your husband directly, we do hope you can now see and understand the purpose of the cut out. “Great, friendly communication and fantastic service. We absolutely love our vu-fold doors and blinds. Makes our conservatory feel like part of the house. We wanted the rooms to be separate day to day, but to be open plan for entertaining (when it’s allowed again). With these doors we have the best of both worlds. They are very well made and function smoothly and easily. The blinds are the perfect finishing touch, giving privacy without blocking out all the light.”

“The instructions need a bit of imagination when fitting in an opening with a wall thickness of more than about 80mm, but the final result looks great, works smoothly and most of all folds flush to the wall when fully open.”

“Great website, clear pictures and information. Read instructions as my builders didn’t so took longer than it should! Fantastic product and looks spectacular. Means we can have a closed off room or open it up completely with no doors having to be held open in rooms”
