“These doors were perfect for our needs. We wanted dividing doors between the lounge and dining room, but didn’t really want to lose wall space on either side which a standard sliding solution would have done. The vufold doors fold neatly back on themselves, using only one side of the facing wall, meaning we can still use the other side to hang pictures / position furniture. I honestly don’t know why everyone doesn’t use these already lol”

“Difficult review as I do quite like the doors and they look quite smart but our door split while fitting and the finish is quite poor, rough unfinished edges, rough unfinished surround and rough doors. Reported to company who blamed our fitter which I disagree with as my husband watched and held while fitting. Have had to buy a replacement for one door which has made them cost nearly £1000. Have been offered £20.00 in compensation for poor finish. I believe our door is substandard and should have been replaced, this possibly is a one off as these thing happen and other reviews are good, but feel unhappy with service received.”

We are sorry to read of your experience in this review but glad to see that you like your Vufold doors for the way they look in your home. When you first contacted us about your problem with the screws coming through the outside of the doorframe, we did explain why we believed the issue was caused by a mistake made by your fitter. Our installation instructions are very clear, as can be testified by many thousands of satisfied customers. However, if they are not followed precisely, then mistakes can happen. We believe that the angle the screws were put in resulted in them going through the frame. This could have been down to how the pilot holes were drilled or the way the screws were driven in during the installation process. All our door sets come with a ready-made template that shows where the pilot holes should be drilled. If, as you suggested when you contacted us, that there is a manufacturing/instruction problem with the placing of the screw holes, then we would expect to be seeing lots of customers coming back to us with the same issue, but this is simply not the case. As a result, we do not believe the fault lies with our instructions or manufacturing. After that first conversation, we did not hear from you for another two weeks, when you raised the issue of the finish to parts of the frame. When we looked at the evidence you provided, we accepted fully that these small parts of the frames were not finished to your or our satisfaction and offered the compensation to allow you to put things right. Our understanding at the time was that you were satisfied with how we had offered to rectify the problem, so we are a little surprised to see some of the comments in your review. We recognise that it can be disappointing when things go wrong with an installation, but we are pleased to see that you are now happy with your Vufold doors and hope that they provide you with many years of enjoyment.
