“The door is ok but all the accessories that I purchased out of ease were a little disappointing for the price paid. The letterbox is very hard to open and the deadlock template for installation was incorrect so my fittter is having to in-fill some gaps from cutting in too wide as per the template. The surface of the door does not clean easily and I’m going to have to spray it to get a good finish. So while all the elements look good there is extra work needed to finish off which is not what I expected for the price.”

The door you purchased is finished in 3 coats of a durable high build microporous finish, the doors should be easy to clean using a damp microfibre cloth, again we are more than happy to discuss this further with you. “The door itself is of good quality, but the frame kit is sub standard and requires more tailoring and carpentry than you’d expect from a ‘kit’. It is a very tailorable system, but that means you cut every joint, route every hinge, and set every lock. Having used vufold in the past and been very happy, this door set seems very overpriced and lacking in attention to detail. Service and feedback wasn’t as good as I’d expect either. Shame.”

Thank you for taking the time to submit your review and we are pleased to hear you are happy with the quality of your door. We are however disappointed to only receive 2 out of 5 stars for what appears to be some confusion over the works required for the frame. The Ultimate door you purchased is advertised as requiring to be ‘professionally fitted’. Unlike our ready-to-assemble bifold doors which are supplied pre-machined and just simply require onsite assembly, the Ultimate front doors, you can choose different sizes, sidelight configurations, with or without frames, and optional hardware. Due to the various options available it is not possible to pre-machine the doors and frames. However, we have tried to simplify everything as much as possible, including supplying a full frame fitting kit and comprehensive installation guide. It is a wooden door so a competent joiner with the necessary joinery skills would have no issue installing the doors. It is common in the industry for timber products to be supplied this way, unlike a UPVC or Composite door. Many thanks Vufold

“The door is perfect..HOWEVER, we should have been advised that one needs a professional carpenter to install the hinges, handles and locks. It took a day and a half and still the door does not close tightly......for the price of the door, we would have expected at minimum, cut-outs or templates for the installation process We purchased two doors, and require 3 more, but we feel we need to find another supplier that at least provides templates. Richard”

We do state this on our website, however, we appreciate the feedback, and we will look to make this more prominent. Unlike our bifold door range which is supplied ready to assemble with all the hardware included, it is optional if you purchase our front door hardware which comes with full fitting instructions or prefer to source your own, therefore it is not possible to supply the door with cut-outs.
