“Door came with a bit of damage to the the astral bar where they changed the door straight The leading door has a bow in which doesn’t close correctly Sent Photos etc ,but as yet haven’t replaced this Not sure if I would recommend them again as have done vey much so in the past”

Hi Billy, Thank you for your review. We are sorry for the initial issue; on hearing of the damaged item, we did issue you an immediate replacement, and thank you for your kind understanding. After investigating the second issue reported, we do not believe the door is bowed, the hinges have a 3-way adjustment, and we did request you carry out the relevant adjustments and report back to us. “We had some Vufold oak French doors in 2010 and were very happy with them, still looked and functioned well. However this year we decided to change them for the Master white french doors. We ordered them, but on delivery (great delivery service) and reading installation, we discovered they only opened out with the right door (as viewed from the outside) as the lead door. This set-up did not work for our location and so sadly we had to return the doors, at a cost of £114.00 to ourselves. I do not feel you make this very clear on the website description, and despite pointing this out to customer services this still hasn't been made more clear on your new website. In the leading description and specifications of the doors, it says open outwards and that is all. We, wrongly as it turns out assumed the doors could be handed. I asked your bespoke service if we could have a left-hand lead door and was told no. Very disappointed as we like the quality of the doors and indeed purchased the master bifold doors in white to replace our old oak ones. These are good quality, easy to install and look great. A shame we had to go elsewhere for the french doors and lost £114 in return costs.”

“Installed to match 2 other Vufold Master Bi-folds. Installation straightforward provided you remember to equip yourself with a suitable pack or packs of shims and use a good long spirit level. Most of the effort was in removing the old French Doors and cleaning off sealant from the brickwork. Installation took less than a day, but it’s useful to have a helper to assist with doors. Also spend some time making a support for the doors before hanging. Adjustment was pretty easy, and careful checking of the installation of frame meant all was true. Sealing around the frame took a bit of time and quite a few tubes of exterior mastic, but clean result. Very pleased - recommended.”

“Very pleased with the quality and appearance of the doors. Wood frames, whilst not as thin as aluminium, are slim and allow for wide panes of double glazing. Pre-finished paint quality is also good.”

“Fitted these doors myself and am generally very happy with the way they've turned out. Very solid construction with good paint finish so good value for money. The truth will be in how they wear over time which I cannot obviously talk about now but definitely looks like they'll last quite a few years. Criticisms would be that the assembly instructions are really quite poor, so you need to have a bit of common sense about you. Also one or two little things, like the pre-drilled holes for the hinges were too small and needed opening out. They could have done with informing you that you need to go out and buy frame fixings separately. A nice touch would also be some suggestions of friction door stays and the like but that's asking quite a lot. Overall, I would recommend them for the price.”
