It was such an amazing time. Time was running so fast and I couldn’t believe it was over so fast!

Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, the house and food were great and very conveniently located for exploring! The program was fun but a little different than I expected. I thought I would be shadowing doctors and getting to enter the OR, but when we asked why we weren’t the hospital staff said we weren't qualified and got mad at us for asking. I still enjoyed the program but was expecting more medical experience than playing with children.

A review about six week of Volunteering with Volunteering Solutions in Hanoi, Vietnam in an English Teaching Program My program as an Assistant English teacher in Hanoi, Vietnam was six weeks long in between the 17th of January and the 26th of February. During that time I lived in a Volunteer House coordinated by CSDS (Center for Sustainable Development Management). There I was able to not only have a comfortable new home but also meet a lot of people who volunteered in different projects. If I had a question I was always able to talk to coordinators in the house. The rooms were shared and comfortable and the food prepared by a nanny was good. The secondary school (NTT) I helped to teach in was a 20 minute walk away and the students were between 13 and 17. All of them where very open and had good english skills so teaching was easy and fun, because we were able to insert games into the different topics of the classes. Furthermore before, in between and after Volunteering Solution was always fast with answering questions and helping. To sum up I really enjoyed my project and can only recommend it, and for upcoming Volunteers I would recommend to stay as long as possible to get a clearer insight into projects and a deeper connection to the people around you.

I like the great overview and the possibility to check the website on the mobile phone. Pre departure booklet was very interesting and helpful. Really nice! After reading it I was really excited and happy to go to Vietnam. Staff of the Volunteer House was really nice and helpful. We had an introducing day was really good. I only wished to get an sightseeing tour trough the city to meet the town at the first day. My placement was amazing. Nice children helpful caregivers and other nice volunteers. My experience was absolutely worthwile! The country coordinator and support staff were Absolutely friendly! I loved the children and making new friends with other volunteers. I improved my English as well and I love Vietnam!

My volunteering trip was great. Working with disabled kids was very- very hard especially with the ones with Hydrocephalic sickness a lot more than I expected. The first two days I came back to the house very depressed and sometimes I cried before going to bed thinking on those kids. But after the first week I got the chance to know them and to learn how to communicate with them. I started to see only their qualities instead of their problems and I felt so good for that. I was very surprised by the fact that those kids really need love in fact a hug was enough to make them happy. I walked them I feed them (you can't even imagine how hard was to feed a girl that just opened her mouth once every 5 minutes) but the most important thing and the thing that they will remember the most: I gave them love. On the other side healing the Hydrocephalic kids was the most difficult thing I have ever done. It was all a specific process and it was very hard trying to make them not cry while you were changing the bindings on their head. The house we stayed at was GREAT and so fun!!! Being with other 50 volunteers was so good. I loved being with them every night and talking about everything we had seen during the day. I felt like I could talk of whatever I wanted with them and they would understand me perfectly. People was for sure one of the best things of this trip. I would recommend this trip to everyone who wants to help but they really have to be ready to handle all this cause it's not simple at all. But I guarantee that it's worth it and you will learn other faces of the world you can't learn by only seeing pictures. Thank you very much for everything I hope to talk to you again for the next trip.

Airport Pick up Pick up was great. Andy had a board with my name on it and we got a taxi straight to the hostel. Brilliant service! Placement / Project The placements were great. I loved the HIV orphanage and the Disabled. Both were optional as not everyone wanted to do these but I loved the disabled one most although initially it was very overpowering. The kids are used to volunteers so they are very friendly and in two weeks I really got to see their personalities. It was quite difficult leaving. I would love to go back and teach next time. Accommodation and Meals It was amazing. The hostel was a great environment to work with others doing the same thing. It was emotional at times so to share this with others was a relief. It was very organized at the hostel with food and social activities available to all. The food wasn&#39 t to my taste and I took some crackers and cuppa soups. For those that aren&#39 t very adventurous with food I would highly recommend that you take these things as a back up. Coordinator Andy at the hostel was the perfect host and the perfect person for the job. He got everyone working together and created a very fun atmosphere. I will definitely go back at some point ! Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no YES -- Great cause .I cannot recommend this trip enough it was AMAZING !
