Our in-country host Rosiee has been lovely very helpful and hospitable. She has taken good care of us and was always here if we needed help. I really enjoyed staying here. The mahouts were so sweet and fun. They were always in good mood and would let us be around elephants as much as possible. It was a pleasure to see that they really cared about elephants and that they liked their job and the volunteers. The kids at the Pre - school and the girls at the girls home were adorable. The minute we stepped into the room the kids were all over us to get our attention. I liked that it was so flexible. If you need to take a break you take one. If you wanna work more it's possible as well. If you wanna go and work in different projects like preschool home for the disabled it is possible too. It has been an unforgettable experience. Thank you very much !!

I liked everything on the website it was very clear and appealing! Predeparture booklet is also very good to prepare yourself. What to do at airport what to bring. Make it clear to bring washing powder and toilet paper. Support staff were good I always got an reply really fast. But I often got not really an answer for my questions. I really liked my placement. I had to manage my own and take initiative: for me that isn't a problem but maybe this could be an issue for some people. I felt my efforts get appreciated the kids were always really happy to see me. So were the teachers. At the beginning I had the feeling it wasn't really planned or weren't expecting me... but all the other times they were very happy to see me. Accommodation and meals were good. Make clear that's a homestay so that you have to help out and no luxe. The in-country support staff were really good! You can ask everything to Rosiee and Amal and they always want to help you and statisfy your wishes. Everything. The children other volunteers culture and nature.

I liked the overview of the different projects and the countries. You got every Information you need after just a couple of clicks. I did enjoy working at my project. The placement was absolutely fine my host dad Michael Ferreira and his family were very friendly and welcoming. I could not have asked for a nicer host-stay! The trip was definitely worth it for me. The staff in the orphanage were sometimes unfriendly but I think this is only a lack of language skills. But nevertheless they appreciated my work and helped me as soon as I needed it. The accommodation was really good. I shared my room with 2 others and the bathroom with 4 to 5 others. The house was located perfectly close to the city centre and of course to the orphanage. The meals were traditional and also western style. They also took into consideration when someone had allergies or didn't like a side dish. The service and support in Sri Lanka was absolutely perfect. As soon as I had a question or a problem he was there to help! One of my highlight was when some of the other volunteers and my host dad took a trip together through the country. We were able to see all the sight-seeing attractions of Sri Lanka with a local. I really recommend the Orphanage Project in Sri Lanka and I would do it again!

Pre Departure Information and Contact Information I received was very helpful and the coordinator was very quick to reply to all my mails.Any questions or concerns I had were answered promptly. Placement / Project I taught English to Buddhist monks and the experience was very rewarding and exciting. In the second week I also ran art workshops at the orphanage which was also wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed both placements and would recommend it to anyone. Accommodation and meals Food was OUTSTANDING better than any restaurant I had eaten in Sri Lanka. The home was very welcoming and I learnt as much Sinhalese as I could. The family was very friendly and assisted me whenever I needed advise. Coordinator Was very kind and generous and does his best for his volunteers during their stay. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no YES

Please share with us your Volunteering experience on the whole ? To be a volunteer in Sri Lanka is an amazing adventure and a great experience. My experience with Volunteering Solutions organization has been fun and rewarding. The people are very helpful and sweet always with a smile on their faces. My Coordinator picked me up from the Airport and took me to my placement which was great. My host family has been very welcoming. During my stay in Sri Lanka I have been working in a children orphanage for almost two weeks and it has been a fantastic experience that I will never forget. It has been amazing to be a part of a totally different culture. It has really given me another point of view. It is something everyone should try. It has been so great to live with a host family and especially with this family. They look after the volunteers very well and provide good Sri Lankan food and also its really nice to live with someone who cares about you too. The family is lovely they are always there to answer any questions I may have. My host family made me feel like a part of there family and was always ready to help with everything. That made me feel safe. On my first day the coordinator showed me around Galle the Fort and also Tsunami effected areas which was very interesting and helpful. My placement at the orphanage has filled me with joy. The children and the teachers at the school are very warm and giving. I feel I have taken a lot with me from this experience. The host family is a wonderful family and hosts a great placement all which I thoroughly enjoyed. If you want to learn about the world and all the amazing people in it this is the program I would really recommend to you.

House is comfortable and we are well provided for. Family is friendly and helpful with any questions and any health problems. They have all been lovely and friendly. Meals were tasty and freshly cooked. All in all would recommend staying here and have enjoyed my stay. The coordinator and his family were very helpful. He has ensured everything is good with placement and any other issues. Made all volunteers very welcome and part of family.

I was a bit nervous about arriving but there turned out to be a no problem at all. My coordinator Sahil was very professional prompt and helpful. The pre departure booklet was very helpful too to make me mentally strong and what to expect. The orphanage was difficult to volunteer at with how emotionally draining it was to see such heart breaking things but it felt really worthwhile and I loved the children. I will miss them very much. The home stay with host family was a great experience . They were so warm and accommodating and always a joy to come home to. The meals were good even for vegetarians like myself. Coordinator was very helpful and connected person i met in Sri Lanka. He took care of me when i was sick and arranged trips for us. I loved being with him and host family. Yes I will surely recommend Volunteering Solutions to others.
