“Before arriving in south africa everything was going well. However, when we got there, unfortunately we had some unpleasant surprises. For example the fact that the volunteers' hostel would be closing on December 14th, which made us have to choose whether we would pay an extra night even though we paid for a 4 week program. In addition, my friend's flight to Cape Town got canceled. She immediately sent an e-mail to volunteering solutions and updated her flight information. But faced a 2-hour wait at Cape Town Airport before they picked her up. I had a good time with the volunteers at the hostel, however, our hostel manager was a grumpy man who seemed to have a preference for some volunteers.”

“My experience in South Africa could not have been better. Going into it, I did not know what to expect but whatever expectations I had were far exceeded. The second I walked into the hostel I immediately felt at home and very welcomed by the other volunteers and the hostel manager. My experience volunteering at a day clinic is unbeatable as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I was very nervous about everything before I started my experience, but all the nerves were extremely worth it. I left Cape Town with lifelong friends from around the world and a volunteering experience that I will never forget. If you are nervous, just know that everybody once was too and you are not alone. Take the risk and just do it, because you will not regret it.”
