“The whole experience exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately I had few time at my disposal but inmy short time I felt I was really there for something, I really felt I can give a sort of aid durig the classes. The Volunteer house was a bit far from the city center, but this was both a pro and a con. It was very peaceful but the way to reach the school as a bit long. Hope to be back again soon”

“Overall the program is not what people expect.For example, I was told that my working hours would be from 10-4(slum children project).But the working hours was only from 9:30-11&2-3:15,other than that the progress and everything was good.”

Hello Rohan, Thanks for the 4* rating to your trip. In the booking confirmation/placement information document given to each participant we mention the tentative working hours. The exact working hours for every volunteer vary and depend on the final placement allocated to the participant. The exact hours vary from project to project and vary usually by 1-2 hrs at each project. We are happy to know that apart from this you found everything else good. “I am very grateful for the experiences I had with the slumm children and the rescue elephants! They awoke in me the joy of teaching and sharing knowledge. It’s a shame it’s was so short, I was prepared to volunteer more and do less sightseeing. Nevertheless I am happy because I’m so fascinated with the indian culture, the architecture and the history behind everything. I wasn’t prepared to spend so much on the entry tickets for the monuments and now I will struggle with the remaining 6 weeks I still have in India. Thank you volunteer solutions! I felt very safe in India with you, and now I feel knowledgeable enough to travel on my own.”

We would have loved to have you in our programs for a longer duration of time. The program you chose to do is of 2 weeks only however you could have chosen other options and did a longer term program with us. Under the program inclusions and exclusions, we clearly mention that monument entry fees during the tours is not included in the program. Once again, thanks for being with us in India. “I had an amazing experience with the medical internship in Palampur, India. The volsol staff was welcoming and friendly, and we had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend doing the culture and orientation week, we were able to see so many amazing temples and monuments in Delhi.”

“To make this better, i think there should be organized activites, events or sightseeing after work in the evenings. Otherwise it is very easy and tempting to not do anything and just stay at the house.”
