“It was really easy to fill up all the required documents and information on the website. I also liked that even though you receive the information in your personal email it is also possible to find it on the website. It would be useful to find some link to other pages with information about Indian : culture language travelling food way of life. The Pre-departure booklet was useful because it had the information about the country the placement and the program. It was exhaustive but not too long easy to read and understand. It was easy to keep in contact with the staff and they helped me with everything that I required. The responses were quick and helpful. It has been a great experience to work in the Adharshila Health centre. It is a small center only for women where you can see clearly some of the most prevalent diseases in this country. The centre is located in a neighborhood where most people never get to go to a hospital ( lower - middle class) so the work done in the centre is very nice. You have to trace the problems and decide if it can be managed in the centre or it requires the treatment in the hospital. It is very interesting to see the difference between the Indian and the European medical practices. There were ample similarities as well. Also the doctors in the centre were very kind with me they explained to me everything that I had asked and I could examine the patients easily. It is a great experience to help but also get to learn but not only about medicine but also how to deal with patients that hardly understand you. To make the patients comfortable with me has been one of my personal goals here. The house is located in quiet and safe neighbourhood. The security is for 24 hours a day. There is a park inside and the market is just in front of the entrance. The house is enough for all the people living here. It is always clean rooms with A/C a fridge a living room with TV… I felt as I was at home. The food is also good it is simple and tasty. Shankar is the guy who lives in the house cleans cooks… he’s really a great guy always kind and helpful with everything you need. It is really easy to get along with him and he has become a friend to me. Rajeev and Dheeraj were the two people ( apart from Shankar) who helped us here especially in the first week. They were also kind and ready to explain everything about the city. I think the best part of my experience has been to be able to contact with a local people and culture. It has been the perfect way to know the country as I had to deal with different situations. I have tried to be open- minded and live as the Indian people live eating what they eat going in the same buses and trains...and I would recommend to do this to everyone. Also my work at the centre has been very useful for me as I learnt lots of things that I would never had learnt in Spain. I would like to thank especially Shankar and Dr.Sonia because they have made my trip here really easy and comfortable I felt as I was at home.”

“I liked the information section on Volunteering Solutions website. All the steps to follow (Payment Air Ticket Insurance etc.) were well explained. It was very easy to communicate with the staff members. We always had answers in few days. I appreciate the fact that we worked at different placements. I appreciate both clinic and school. According to me patient home visits were the most interesting experience. It was good to see the patients and interact with all family members. I think the patients really appreciate it as I realized how difficult it was for them to go to the clinics. The accommodation is very comfortable . The food is very good no matter who is cooking (Charan or Joginder). Everything is well organized and I would recommend it to others for sure. Staff members (Bobby Amit and Afzal) are nice open minded and always there to answer our questions.”

“The pre departure booklet was one of the most helpful and reassuring thing and I was happy to receive it. As mentioned above the staff was great and fast with answering any questions and helping me where there were problems. I enjoyed my program placement very much. The children are despite the circumstances they have to live in/with very joyful excited and motivated. It is impossible not to be happy around them and there so many bright and intelligent children. I am really happy to have gotten the chance and privilege of not only teaching them but getting to know them. The highlight from the trip were the children. To see the way their eyes light when you walk in the room or praise them when they are really hard trying to understand. There is no bigger reward than knowing that I could get them to smile. The extra trips to Taj Mahal and Jaipur were incredibly good but also just being here. Everything was really really great. The accommodation was really good. Always clean and pleasant with working electricity and running waters. The meals were probably one of my favorite things always very tasty and very well cooked. The staff here was wonderful and always very helpful. Whenever I had any questions doubts or problems there was always someone to help me out. Shankar was very helpful and brings a lot of joy in the house. I will surely recommend this program. I also want to say thank you for giving people this wonderful experience. I have learned and seen so many things here that I wont ever forget also the people I have to gotten to know are of great worth. Thank you so much. :)”

“I loved my program placement. The kids were great and I am so glad to have this experience. It was worth while experience. Being with the kids was of course so rewarding and the highlight from my stay. I felt like in the short 2 weeks I was here I grew so attached to them and them to me. It was such a great experience. The accommodation and meals both were good and better than what we expected. Our coordinators were friendly and helpful throughout our stay in India. I would surely recommend this program option to anyone who is interested in volunteering in India.”

“I felt like my work really had an impact and I made deep and meaningful friendship with my students. The highlight of my volunteering trip was the bonding with my English students at the center and being welcomed into their homes and learning from there. The accommodation was very comfortable and the meals are delicious. The coordinators were great! Very kind and knowledgeable. I would surely recommend this organization to others.”

“Share your experience of volunteering with Volunteering Solutions in Palampur India!! I was a volunteer at a daycare center in India Palampur region for 2 weeks. It was such a joy to work with these kids and get to know their culture and how they actually live. Palampur was breathtaking and the people so warm and friendly. The volunteers house so welcoming and warm .The coordinators so helpful and encouraging! I can&rsquo t imagine anything that would have given me more inner peace and delight than being able to wake up everyday and go to work with those kids. We got to help them with their English encourage them to try new things and get to see them enjoy our company! &ldquo The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. &rdquo says Mahatma Gandhi. I guess you can say it&rsquo s a way to find yourself and enjoy the peace charm and beauty of India and its people when you visit the charming Palampur! Thank you Volunteering Solutions for an experience of a life time. Can&rsquo t wait for more volunteering and more amazing moments with this program.”

“A typical day began to wake the children for the school to prepare to make them a little morning exercise and then Breakfast. Around 9 AM I take the children to the school and had the opportunity to teach English. If I was not in school I have the staff helping me with the food preparation for kids or in the construction of water filtration systems. Around 4 PM the children would return from the school and I have helped them with their homework and learn English. Then they had some free time and I played until dinner (9 PM) with them and I also organized some painting classes for them. On weekends the children had more free time so during weekend I did more recreational activities such as organized sports games. I was happy with the food and accommodation. I had my own room in the same project in which I was employed. Rations were also as expected very healthy. The staff was very helpful and I could them call at any time for anything. The highlight of my stay was a trip to Ooty which is very nice place located 2000 meters high surrounded by many tea plantations. It was very relaxed and a great destination for hiking. I would surely recommend this program to friends and family.”

“The website was a great resource when I was trying to figure out which program was best for me and was very easy to navigate. The pre departure booklet was very helpful and I had trouble with my visa and staff was wonderful in helping me resolve the issue. The pre departure booklet made me feel really prepared for my journey. The program placement was absolutely amazing. The kids were lively and I fell in love with all of them and will miss them so much when I am home. The accommodation and meals were wonderful. Rooms were great the food was delicious. I will miss Priya&#39 s cooking when I am gone. The coordinators were so helpful. I had many ups and downs and I can&#39 t thank you all enough for every thing you did to help me through my experience. I will absolutely recommend this program to people and I hope to come back myself in the future.”
